Baby Daddy

Chapter 4

Ben was out on the window hedge talking to the adaption adgency. "She'll be ready." He told them into his phone. He hung up. "Done someone from the adaption adgency with come by and pick her up in the morning."

 "You okay?" Said Tucker as Ben sat down beside him.

 "Why wouldn't I be."

 "Ben, if you don't want to do this-" Ben interrupted Tucker mid sentence.

 "It doesn't matter." Ben cut Tucker off. "Mom was right. I couldn't raise this baby even if I wanted to."

 "Well, its going to be okay." Said Danny. "It happened. You delt with it. And like you said we're never talking about it." Ben nodded his head.

 Back inside Bonnie had Emma sitting on her lap. "He could've been a modle. But you've seen your Uncle Danny. No body can recover from that. He was so big I had to have an C, D, and E section."

 Later that night, Danny and Riley where sitting at the bar arguing about the feelings she had for Ben. "Don't say it." She said.

 "Fine." Said Danny. "Have you always liked Ben?"

 "God your obsessed." Riley said as Danny laughed at her. "I don't know. Kind of. I guess I always thought someday but then I thought I was too fat-"

 "Or too loud or too hairy." Danny finished for her.

 "Okay, we're not making a list."

 "Well, you grew to be a beautiful and sucessful woman and its safe to say you can move on from Ben."

 "Why would I want to do that?" She asked.

 "Did you miss the part of the story about the baby?"

 "The baby he doesn't want to give up?"

 "Thats true then why did he make that call?" Danny asked.

 "Because his whole family is telling him he can't do it." Riley explains. "If nobody believes in him how can he believe in himself."

 "He can't do it alone."

 "You don't know that." Riley's looked at her phone that was buzzind. It was a text from Ben. "Oh, his Mom's about to leave him alone with the baby."

 "Your going?" He asked while Riley grabbed her bag.

 "ALONE is in all caps." Riley started pinching Danny.

 "Ow, what was that for?"

 "For making me talk about my feelings. You know I hate that. And take it easy on Ben. He looks up to you. In his eyes you have everything." Riley walked out.

 Danny looked at Riley. "Not everything."

 Riley took the elevator to the appartment as Danny ran up the stairs. "Wait!" He called for her. "You- You gotta give me a minute." Danny is winded. "Maybe now I know why I was traded." He looked at Riley when he got air back. "You where right. I didn't believe in him. I didn't think he could do it."

 "So why are you telling me now?"

 "Because if you go in there and help him, he will never believe in himself either.

 Inside the appartment Ben was talking to Riley on the phone. "Riley, Riley please. She's hungry or thirsty- I don't know. i don't speak baby."

 Back in the hall Riley and Danny where sitting on the stairs as the elevator dinged. It was Tucker. they motioned for him to come over to them. "What is going on?" Tucker said. "Vanessa and I where at the movies when Ben called and said Emma was having some sort of meltdown."

 "I don't think thats the problem." Said Danny.

 In the appartment Ben was talking to Tucker on the phone. "Tucker I swear that if you not home in two seconds... I'm gonna eat all your food. Tucker." He growled then hung up.

 Everyone was sitting in the hall when Ben tried to call Danny. Danny's phone wasn't on silent and everyone went to it to shut it off in his jacket now on the floor. Ben opened up the peep hole to see where the ringing was coming from. No one was out there. But he didn't know the where standing against the wall.

 "Okay." Said Ben to Emma. "Looks like its just gonna be you and me." He started walking towards her to pick her up. "We're really gonna do this." He leaned down to pick her up. "Here honey. Here Emma. It's okay." He finally got her in his arms. "Please don't break." He repeated to himself. He started carring Emma to the kitchen to feed her when he wasn't looking where he was going and banged his foot on the coffee table, he still had a hold on Emma as he hopped on one foot.

 In the hall they ordered pizza waiting for when they should go in. "I'm telling you there is no way." Said Tucker. "Bodily functions make him quissy."

 "He can do it. Put you faith in him." Danny told Tucker.

 Ben was changing Emma's diaper biting off the duct tape and placed it on the straps. "Here you go." He picked up the dirty diaper with pinchers from the kitchen and threw the diaper away, He went to place the pinchers back down and dicided he's rather throw them in the trash too. "Hey." He said to Emma.

 Later in the kitchen Ben was trying to give Emma the bottle. "Come on Emma." He said but she refused. "Come on just eat. See Emma its good." It started taking a long sip from the bottle and made a disgussed face. "Total lie. This is gross. No wonder you don't want to eat. Please eat."

 Ben tried again at the couch. "Come on Emma just a sip."

 He went back to the kitchen and put her in her carrier on the counter. "Please eat I'm begging you." Ben walked away to think. He must have got bored because he started flipping the bottle up in the air like he did at work. Emma started to smile and laugh. So he did it again and she smiled and laughed again. "What? You like that?" He flipped the bottle behind his back. "I do this at work everyday. You want some now. You want some?" He started feeding Emma and this time she ate this time. "Oh my god your eatting. thank you." Ben started to cry. "Holy crap, now I'm crying." He stopped himself. "Crap, don't say crap. Don't use swear words." He started watching Emma eat again.

 The next morning, the others figured out they fell aslepp in the hall and dicided to walk in and check up on Ben. When they walked in Ben was sitting on the couch with Emma in his lap. "Hey." Ben said when he saw them come in.

 "Hey, you okay?" Said Danny.

 "Yeah, I think i want to do this. I can't let her go. I love her." Ben said then kissed Emma's head. everyone just smiled at him. "Can you guys hear me?"

 "Yeah, we heard you." Said Tucker.

 "You should probally call the agency." Said Danny. "It's almost seven."

 Tucker went to grab Emma. "Come on some one needs a bath." Tucker smelled Ben. "You both could."

 "Let me get her bottle ready." Said Danny.

 "Okay but I want to feed her." Ben said walking to the kitchen with them.

 "We're really gonna have to get on some sort of schedule." Said Tucker.

 "What do you mean?" Said Ben.

 "Well we have a baby now so we kind of have to." Tucker replied.

 None of them noticed Riley smiling from the door and seeing they had everything under control she walked out and shut the door.

 Ben got to keep Emma. And got to be a father.
