Chapter 7

Sebastian's pov.

     Something was wrong when the young master and i arrived home. first all the shrubs were skulls and second the main room was decorated as if a little girl had her way. Ciel was upset and we find all the servants and Lady Elizabeth in another room. i accepted Elizabeth's gift but was worried by the fact that i didn't't see Scarlet. Bard was the most nerves looking of the servants so i decided to get him alone.

     I corner Bard in the kitchen and he trys to avoid me. "where is Scarlet?" i ask. Bard looks at the ground. "the library? that's where she said she was going." Bard says. i rush off to the library and see Scarlet sitting by the window reading. she was a dark princess and took my breath away. "am i in trouble Bard?" she asks not looking up. i walk silently over to her to get a better look at the book shes reading. "should you be in trouble?" i ask from next to her. she jumped and looked surprised. "oh.. hi Sebastian." she says as she backs away from me. i smile at her and she sighs. i could smell whisky and a small frown forms as i look at her. "the young master wants to see you." i say. she nods and lets me guide her to the young master's study.

     Ciel smiles at Scarlet and motions her over. "do you know how to dance a waltz?" Ciel asks. Scarlet laughs and sets the book on his desk. "i do. i was forced to learn. do you know?" Scarlet says. Ciel's blushes and i clear my through. "he doesn't. i was going to teach him." i say. Scarlet smiles at us and she sits on Ciel's desk. "i'll watch you two. i'm really into this book." Scarlet says. "into your book or drunk?" i ask. she glares daggers at me and Ciel looks confused. "screw this. i'm going back to the libary." she snaps. i watch her storm away and give a small sigh. "is Scarlet really drunk?" Ciel asks. " i was only guessing. shall we start your dance lesson?" i ask. Ciel nods and i start to work with him.

Scarlet's pov.

     How dare he ask if i;m drunk? i only had 2 shots and it would take a lest 4 to get me a little over tipsy. i sit back in the window and start to read again. someone comes in the library. "who are you?" a girl's voice asks. i look up to see Lady Elizabeth. "i'm Scarlet. i'm a friend of the Earl." i say. she smiles at me. "can i dress you up? i have a really pretty dress that would look great on you." she says. " i don't play dress up. Lady Elizabeth i could do your make up if you want," i say. she shakes her head no and sits by me. "you have pretty eyes." she says. i take a good look at her and realize she isn't going to take no for an answer. "i'm allready dressed for a dance party. see skirt and all. so can i go back to my book?" i ask. she nods and just sits by me until Mey-Rin takes her away. alone a last. i sigh in contentment and get back to reading.

     The next time i'm bothered is by Ciel. he was all dressed up and looks expectantly at me. "yes Earl? do you need me?" i ask as i put the book down. he walks over to me. "come down to the dance party. you can dance with Bard or Finny or Sebastian." Ciel says. i smile kindly at him. "sure i'll be there in a while. have fun without me." i say. he smiles and leaves me alone. was that kid crazy? i don;t dance at all in front of others. i stand and pace for a bit before going down but stop when i hear a violen playing and singing. i can see Ciel dancing with Elizabeth and Finny with Tanaka and Bard with Mey-Rin. Sebastian was playing the violin and Gruell was singing.

     I slip away without them noticing me and head to the room with the aerial hoops. i take off my fishnet top and boots before taking a ballerinas pose. balle and gymnastics where the only things i liked my mom forcing on me. i let the music Sebastian was playing lead my dance. i lay on the floor and just listen to the violin. i stand and do some flips before landing in the hoop to lay on. the music had stopped and i closed my eyes. i fall asleep in my odd perch and am comfortable.

Ciel's pov.

     I danced with Lizzy but Scarlet never did come down. when Lizzy leaves i turn to look at my servants. "go find Scarlet." i say. they all run off after small bows. i head to my study and soon they all rush into my study. all of them but Sebastian. i wait impatiently for them to say anything. "Sebastian found her but said you should come see where she is." Mey-Rin says. i nod and follow them to the big room Scarlet and i had been in yesterday. Sebastian looks at me then up at one of the hoops in the air. i gasp when i see Scarlet up there asleep. the other servants looked as panicked as i was but Sebastian was calm.

     "Get her down." i whisper. Sebastian shakes his head no and motions to the door. we all leave the room and Sebastian closes the door. "why didn't you get her down?" i ask.Sebastian gives me a small smile. "i  can't get her down without hurting her. i'm sorry young master." he says. i sigh and look at the others. "leave her be then. head to bed." i sya. the servants run off leaving me and Sebastian alone. we head to my room and i let Sebastian change my cloths and lay in bed. "Sebastian don't let her get hurt," i mumble as i fall asleep.

Sebastian's pov.

     I had found Scarlet asleep in one of the aerial hoop. her dark skirt hung down beautifully and she looked like she was sleeping on a moon. Ciel was upset that i wouldn't get Scarlet down. after putting the young master in bed i head back to where Scarlet was. she was still asleep and i sit on the floor looking up at her. i could have gotten her down easily without hurting her but i said i couldn't so i could watch her sleep.

     I had to admit i did find Scarlet attractive and she did interested me the day she had met us. her sleep was peaceful and when she finally does move in her sleep she keeps her balance. i notice the book she had been reading by her shoes and odd shirt. i get up to get  the book. it was a book from the young masters library. a book on stars and had a list of days with the next full, half, and new moons. "was he mad?" she says. i turn to see her rubbing sleep from one eye as she looked at me.

     "Hurt not mad. care to some down?" i say. Scarlet sighs then drops to the floor with her skirt flying up to let me see her pale legs. i walk over to her to make sure she didn't break anything. "i'm fine. i did go down. i just didn;t want to interrupt your playing." she says. i watch her walk over to where her things are. she picks up her shoes, top and the book. "did he tell you to watch me?" Scarlet asks. i stay quiet for a bit until her violet eyes catch mine. "he told me not to let you get hurt." i say. she nods.

     "Will you walk with me to my room?" she asks as she holds out her hand. i walk over and take her hand. she gasp a little but doesn't pull away like she had this morning. i walk her to her room and she gives me a smile. "thanks, good night Sebastian." she says as she lets go of my hand. "good night Scarlet." i say before she slips into her room. i rush to my room and pull out her book from last night and began to read again.

Scarlet's pov.

     I had Sebastian walk me to my room. i was soar and felt off. i pull out a small median bag and check to see how many sleeping pills i had. i change into my night cloths before taking the pills that send me into a dreamless sleep. Ciel wakes me the next morning but i feel off. i change into some black pj pants and a baggy black shirt before going down to eat. Sebastian set a cup of coffee in front of me. i didn't drink it since i had taken the pills last night. i eat quickly as Ciel talked about something but i really don't know what it was. i put my head down on my arms and Ciel still talks as i fall back asleep.

Ciel's pov.

     Scarlet looked different today, as we were eating she puts her arms up on the table and her head on her arms. "would you like to go out to the garden today?" i ask. i wait for her answer but she doesn't even look up at me. i touch her arm and shake her but nothing happens. i look at Sebastian before turning back to Scarlet ans shaking her again. this time she fell out of the chair and onto the floor. "Scarlet are you alright? Scarlet?" i ask.

     Sebastian rushes over to her and gently places a hand on her forehead. "she has a fervor. i'll take her back to her room." Sebastian says. i follow him as he carers her to her room and puts her on her bed. she was asleep the whole time and Sebastian takes me to my study. i work but every chance i can i sneak up to Scarlet's room. she was still asleep but looked better. i was caught by Sebastian and he keeps me from her room for the rest of the day.

     At dinner time Scarlet comes down and she looks like her normal self. "sorry if i scared you." she says. "if your sick you should have said so." i say as Sebastian puts food in front of her. she laughs and gently touches my hand. she hadn't put on gloves on today or yesterday and her skin was soft. i look into her violet eyes that danced with laughter. " i have a hard time sleeping sometimes. when that happened i...i use something to help. sometimes the result is bad." she says. i shake my head and notice the hurt in her eyes. "why? why do that?" i ask. i dodn't understand and wanted her safe for Sebastian. she sighs and removes her hand from mine to run it throw her hair. i turn to see Sebastian's hurt look as he gasped at Scarlet. "i did it to stop the nightmares. Ciel i didn;t have a good life and those nightmares have almost killed me. did you know that if you die in a dream and don't wake up after it happens you die in real life? i can't let it happen again." Scarlet crys. i look helplessly at her.
