Chapter 2

Sebastian's pov.

    Ciel asked me to get the girl from yesterday. she wasn't hard to find with everyone in London talking about a fortune teller in the park. she was different from other humans i had met. when we got to the manner i notice that she was looking at the garden. i take her up to Ciel's study and he seems happy to see the girl. "what are you wearing?" Ciel asks. she laughs and it sounds like the tinkling of bells. " a dress. do you not like it?" she says. Ciel smiles at her and points to a chair. she sits and looks around. "nice place. very big and unlived in. it's very haunted house. i like it." she says. she was sitting in a very unlady like position. "Scarlet how was it in the cemetery last night?" Ciel asks. he had worried over her there all night.

     i went to check on her last night. she really did sleep in that mausoleum and i did tell my master that. "it was ok. better then where i used to be." Scarlet says. Ciel walks over to her and grabs her gloved hands. "you don't need these. take them off." Ciel demands. i smile at my impatient master. Scarlet pulls her hands away from his. "i thought you wanted to have tea with me?" Scarlet asks. "Sebastian go make the tea." Ciel says as he looks at me. i bow and leave the two of them alone in the study.

Ciel's pov

     After Sebastian leaves Scarlet jumps out of her seat. "let's go out to your garden/" Scarlet says. she seamed jumpy and nerves. "does Sebastian scare you?" i ask. she shakes her head no. "not at all kiddo. i'm not like many people. why are you so nice to me?" Scarlet asks. i sigh not really knowing the answer to that. when she had flipped over me yesterday i knew i wanted her safe in mt house. it had to do with Sebastian's reaction to her. "you looked like you needed a friend. stay here tonight it's safer then the cemetery." i say.

    Scarlet nods her head. "one night will be fine. so about that walk in your garden?" she says. i grab her hand and we walk outside. Scarlet smiles at me as we walk. "where did you come from?" i ask. i was glad she agreed to stay here. "some place you wouldn't know. it your butler going to find us out here easily?" Scarlet asks. "yes, he's one hell of a butler." i say with a little laugh. we stop at a stone bench and sit. Sebastian finds us and has the tea cart. when we where done with tea i walk with Scarlet to a guest room for the night. "i left my bag in your study." Scarlet says. Sebastian leaves to get it.

    I wait with her until Sebastian comes back. she had her black hair down but pulled it up. i was suprised to see the red under the black. she also had a lot of metal in her ears. "why did you do that to yourself?" i ask. Scarlet looks over at me. "to make my "mom" mad." she says. she made a funny hand gesture when she said mom. Sebastian comes in with her bag. i leave with Sebastian to let her have a little space. once back at my study Sebastian looks at me. "is it wise to let her stay here?" Sebastian asks.

   "Yes. i might hire her as a caretaker or something so that i can learn more about her." i say. Sebastian's eyes flash fusha. "she's not human." Sebastian says. i gasp when i hear this. Scarlet isn't human? that can't be true. "prove it to me. then if she is dangers we'll turn her in." i say. Sebastian bows and heads off to prepare for dinner. i go back to my work so it will all be finished for the day.

Scarlet's pov.

     Ciel was up to something. he asked me to stay and act like my friend. Sebastian came to get me for dinner. i had put in my lip piercing which was a coffin. i follow Sebastian to a dinning room. i sit by Ciel and he looks at me with shocked. "what's that on your lip?" Ciel asks. i touch the coffin. "my lip piercing. i'll take it out if it's bugging you." i say. he shakes his head no and we start eating. "are you going to take those off?" Ciel asks as he points at my gloves. "later. i don't like people seeing the top of my hands." i say. as we eat i couldn't help but feel like i was being watched. "how old are you Scarlet?" Sebastian asks. i turn to look at him. "17 why?" i say. he smiles wickedly and i shiver involuntary.

     He wasn't human. i turn my attention back to Ciel who was talking about me working for him. "so what do you think?" Ciel asks. "let me think about it. " i say. after dinner i walk with Ciel to a game room. "do you play chess?" Ciel asks as he sits in front of a chess set. "i don't. sorry buddy." i say. Ciel frowns at me. "why do you call me by odd manes?" Ciel asks. i smile kindly at him. "i do it to all little boys. they feel safer that way. i'll stop if you don't like it." i say. i sat in the window ceal to look outside.

     I didn't notice the knife until it was against my thought. Ciel didn't seam surprised by this and Sebastian presses it gently to my skin. Ciel walks over to me and takes my hand. "i'm sorry we had to do this to you." Ciel says. he pulls off the glove on my right hand and looks disaponted. Sebastian takes a tight hold of my left arm so i couldn't pull away. Ciel pulls off the glove and gasp."what is this?" Ciel demands as he holds my hand. "my birthmark. please let me go." i say. i fight back the tears from falling.

     Sebastian lets me go and i snatch my gloves out of Ciel's hands. "who is your master?" Sebastian asks. i shake my head. "master? what kind of sick game are you playing?" i yell. Ciel makes a calming hand gesture. "your a demon without a master?" Sebastian asks. "demon? i may be a witch but i'm not a demon." i say. Ciel and Sebastian exchange looks. they had to be crazy right? maybe my mom was right and i was a devil child. i feel the ground hit my knees and the world spinning. i let the darkness take over.

Sebastian's pov.

     Ciel and i question her about her mark. she was a demon like me. she fainted and i take her to her room. i head back to Ciel who looked worried. "is she all right?" Ciel asks. "yes, what do you want to do about her?" i ask. it would be safer to kill her. "let's teach her. i see no reason to hurt her." Ciel says. i help the young master get ready for bed before going to Scarlet's room. i quickly grab her bag and take it to my room.

     She must be hiding something from us in here. a small leather thing falls out of her cloths from the day before. i open it and see an odd card. state id? the year is 2012? she was from the futair? i would tell my master in the morning. i notice a book about demons in her bag. i notice a book mark and open the book to see it on a page about 1800 demon's and notice my name. this is interesting. i'l read this before the night was over.

     I put her bag back in her room. Ciel gets up and i decide to keep what i found out to myself for now. Ciel heads straight to Scarlet's room and sits in the chair by the bed. she wakes up and looks coldly at me. "i understand. look Ciel i get it. i'm not normal and that makes me a monster. your not the first to call me such names. i'll leave so that you don't have any more problems." she says as she gets off the bed. there was blood on her pillow and on her face. she cried blood? Ciel was right about her staying with us. "your staying here. we'll help you figure things out." Ciel says as he walks over to her. i leave to start beackfast and notice the tears now falling from her eyes.
