Percy

Crash!

My head snapped up, and I saw glass shattering everywhere. Penis (I'd decided to call him that now) was lying on the ground, clutching his stomach.

"Are you okay?" I asked him. He nodded and jumped up. And I mean jumped up. I stared at him in shock. "Yep!" he exclaimed, popping the 'p'. "What happened?" I asked, intrigued as to why and how he had crashed through the glass.

"I was...fighting crime," he said, still clutching his stomach. "And I...I...got gently poked with a knife."

I raised an eyebrow. "I got poked in the stomach with a knife not so gently?" Penis tried, but it sounded like more of a question.

I scoffed.

"Fine," he groaned. "I got stabbed with a knife in the stomach." My eyes widened, but I kept my calm demeanor. "Doing what? Fighting 'petty' crime?"

Penis started towards me. "Jeez, calm down. What's a scrawny kid like you going to do to me?" I asked, smirking.

"More than you think," Penis muttered. He looked up. "Look, I know you hate my dad. But that doesn't give you a reason to hate me. I - we have done nothing wrong, and your just lashing out at me, and everyone you meet here, okay?"

I stared, stunned at his words. "Right," I said, looking back down to my feet. "I'm just, I'm just annoyed."

Penis' calm voice changed into something of anger. "That isn't a good enough reason to be rude to everyone!" he snapped.

"It does if your me," I quipped back. Penis' eyes flashed. "What do you mean by that?"

"Look!" I exclaimed, raising my voice. Suddenly all my sarcasm and calmness faded away, turning to anger. "My parents are dead! Some of my friends are too! My girlfriend is missing, and I am not doing anything worthwhile while being here, so just stay out of my business and leave me alone."

Penis looked at his feet. "I'm-I'm sorry," he stammered. "I mean, I get how you feel." His voice had quietened and I felt my heartbeat slowed, calming down.

Penis, no Peter spoke again. "I lost my whole family - my parents when I was five, my uncle when I was eleven. And just last year, I lost my aunt."

I felt sympathy for him. "You don't have to be sorry," I whispered. "I should. I shouldn't've treated you or Stark that way. I think...I think I just need some space."

Peter nodded, expression full of understanding. "Understood. But just remember. If you need some help, you can talk to me."

I nodded, and he walked away, calling, "Dad! Got an idea for the suit!" I frowned, but ended it with a laugh.

I walked to my room and sat on my bed, staring at the floor. I walked into the bathroom, and locked the door.

I threw a drachma into the sink. "Oh, Fleecy, do me a solid. Show me Chiron at Camp Half-Blood."

The image of Chiron formed, and I felt myself exhale a sigh of relief. "Hey, Chiron," I said. "Found any leads on Annabeth yet?"

Chiron's expression was enough to tell me the answer. "So, no," I summed up. "Sorry, Percy," Chiron apologized. "We have been searching and searching and searching but there are no traces as to why or who took her."

"Just like me," I mumbled. Chiron didn't seem to hear. "Where are you Percy?" he asked, frowning. I realized there were crashing noises. "At my uncle's place," I answered. "And he's this billionaire-"

"Tony Stark," Chiron interrupted, calmly. "Yeah, I know him."

A frown found it's way onto my face. "How?" I asked, crossing his arms. Chiron hesitated, but still spoke. "Anthony was abused as a child. He was usually taken care of his butler, Jarvis, when that happened, but when he couldn't make it to look after him, I did."

I nodded, dazed. "Who did he know you as?" I asked. "David Brunner," Chiron answered. "That's all I need to know," I muttered, and swiped through the IM, cutting off the message.

I ran outside and down the stairs, into the lab. Well, outside the lab. I hammered my fist on the door and Tony finally came up. "What do you want?" he asked, unlocking the door, standing out to face me.

I snapped my fingers. "David Brunner," I said. "He was your caretaker, other than Jarvis. Right?"

Tony froze, and his eyes narrowed to slits like a snakes. I fake shuddered but turned back to him. "How do you know that?" Tony asked, voice laced with venom. "David Brunner is my...camp instructor!" I exclaimed.

"Isn't he dead now?" he asked. Well, technically he can't die because he's an immortal centaur buuuuuutttt... "Oof! I meant, David Brunner jr," I corrected.

Tony raised his eyebrows. "Kay," he said. "So, why do you want to talk to me about him?" I froze, suddenly realizing I didn't know what I wanted to talk to him about. "N-nothing," I said quickly. "I have to go," was my perfect excuse to escape the awkwardness of the conversation.

I hid my head and stared at my feet, aware of my bright pink face. How humiliating!

I hurried away, into my room, and pressed a hand against the glass, staring at the bustling city below me. There was a pang in my chest.

A pang I couldn't ignore.
