Tony

I know what it's like to have a mourning teenager in my house...well, tower. I had Peter when his aunt died, and now I have Percy and his mom was dead.

The morning of the following day Percy didn't even leave his room. I heard loud crashes from inside but didn't want to enter without a suit. The world would be in chaos without me...especially if I died by a mourning teen.

I called my suit to me, then blasted open the door. Percy let out a shout as the door hit him, knocking him back. I winced and stepped out of the suit.

"What the Hades?" Percy yelled, staggering up and shoving me into a wall. I noticed that his eyes were red and puffy from crying.

I winced. "Accident," I muttered. "It happens all the time."

Percy nodded, unconvinced, and his eyes drew to my suit, letting me go. "What is tha-is that Iron Man?" he asked.

"Technically I am," I said.

Percy's eyes widened. "Really?" I nodded. "What's the sudden interest?" Percy fidgeted with a pen that came out of nowhere. "One of my friends, Leo Valdez, he's...he's a son of Hephaestus and he's...obsessed with you."

I frowned. "Like a creepy obsesse-"

Percy shook his head quickly, wiping away tears. "N-no. He's-he was-no, is a mechanic." I frowned. "What do you mean by 'was' and now 'is'?" Percy's frowned. "The kid you saw yesterday!" he exclaimed. I blinked. "Oh."

The demigod slammed a fist on the table, making my tools shake.

"Oh, kid," I murmured, putting a firm hand on his back and pulling him into a hug. At first Percy was silent, but then he started sobbing quietly, obliging into the hug. "It's just...I've lost so many people and-and...the one person who I thought I would never lose...is now missing."

I shuddered, knowing exactly how he felt. To feel so alone in such desperate times.

He pulled away. "Here's the deal, kid," I said. "We're gonna go to you're parents' funeral, and then we're going to come back here, and get your girlfriend back." Percy's eyes lit up. "Are you sure?" he asked. I nodded. "Of course. It's not the first time I've been in a life-threatening situa-"

Something suddenly burst through the glass and I saw a large black dog in front of me, snarling. Except...it seemed sort of fuzzy.

When my vision cleared, I saw a huge creature with black, shaggy fur. It's teeth were as long as daggers and it's eyes glowed a ghastly red. "κόλαση," Percy muttered.

"What?" I asked, as I stepped into my suit, activating it. "Hellhounds," Percy translated. "Oh," I muttered, shooting at it with my repulsors. The blasts knocked the hellhound back but didn't seem to hurt it.

Percy's pen suddenly turned into a sword. I yelped as he swung it, slicing through the hellhound. All that was left was a pile of dust. "Easy," Percy muttered.

"Easy?" I asked, still shocked and surprised.

Percy raised his eyebrow and dropped his sword, then lay down on his bed. "Get up, kid," I whispered. "Funeral's starting soon."

---

Once it was over, Percy lay on his bed and sobbed. I sat next to him, unsure of what to do.

"Anything you want to do, kid?" I asked him. "Anything," he muttered. A grin crept onto my face. "How about we work in my lab?" I asked. Percy shrugged. "Sure."

When we went inside, I saw that Peter was already there, working on his webshooters. Percy looked around. "This place is amazing," he muttered. I smirked. "Damn right."

I took of my uncomfortable black jacket I wore to the funeral and threw it across the room. It landed in front of Dum-E who flicked it away. "Ah, ah, ah," I warned to the robot. "Pick it up, Dum-E. Pick it up!"

Percy snorted as Dum-E tried to retrieve the jacket. "Perce," I said. "Just saying, you can build whatever you want."

The demigod looked nervous.

"I-I don't know, Tony," he said. "Last time I was in a forge-lab type thing...I kind of blew it up...as well as the mountain - Mount Saint Helens." Peter's eyes widened. "That was you?" he asked. Percy nodded. "We were over there for a field trip - me and my class - and we had to get to safety." Percy smirked. "Sorry 'bout that," he apologized. Peter just grinned.

This time I couldn't fight the urge to grin too.
