Percy
"Tartarus," Tony said, snapping his fingers. "Isn't he some kind of Greek god?"
I smirked as Bruce, Tony and Peter talked about the whole... Tartarus thing. Rhodes stood in the corner, smirking.
"No, he's a titan," Bruce corrected. It took all my self control to stop myself from laughing. Peter frowned. "No, isn't he- isn't he some sort of demigod?"
Tony and Bruce blinked, then nodded. "Yeah!" they both exclaimed. I burst out laughing.
Tony spun his chair and looked at me. "You. What's the big deal?" I stood up and tried to touch Tony's hologram. Instead, I fell through, and landed on top of the table.
Quickly collecting myself, I turned back to them. Tony quickly swiped the hologram away. "Stop saying off," I growled. Tony poked his tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, Tartarus is a Primordial-"
"So, a very bad guy," Bruce mumbled, not happening to realize that he disrupted me. I nodded. "Yeah. He's...ever heard of Tartarus...the place, not the primordial?"
Peter nodded. "Yeah, Hell." I was about to nod when I stopped myself. "Not exactly," I said. "The...worse, more torturous version of Hell."
"Wait, hold up," Tony muttered. "Why are we even talking about this again? About Greek Primordials, and what not?"
I bit my tongue. Hard. Ouch, mental reminder to never do that on purpose again.
I sighed. There was no holding back now. "Because the Greek Gods are real."
---
It took seven hours to explain to them all about the Greek Myths and how they were real. SEVEN. HOURS.
"Okay," Tony mumbled, a hand on his place. "Wel-"
Pepper walked through and Tony stood up, cutting himself off. "Hey, Pep!" he exclaimed. "I have a question-"
"What is it?" she asked.
"Why do you assume that I want something?" Tony asked.
Peter and I snickered. Tony didn't seem to notice, but Bruce and Rhodey did, nodding in approval.
"Just tell me," Pepper said, kissing Tony on the cheek. I felt my heart throb, but I ignored it, focusing on the ground.
"Some American cheeseburgers," Tony said. "One for me-" He stopped himself to look at everyone else who just shook their heads. His gaze fell on me. "Want one, kid?"
I looked up, and nodded. "Sure. I love cheeseburgers." Tony nodded with a smile and clapped me on the back. "-and one for Perce," he continued.
Perce, I thought to myself, smiling faintly. Does he finally count me as a nephew instead of a pain in his a**?
Suddenly, something shimmered in front of me and I saw the faces of Piper and Jason in front of me. Peter yelped, Rhodey and Tony jumped, and Bruce staggered back in shock.
"Percy," Piper said excitedly, apparently not noticing the billionaire behind my back. "Guess what?"
My eyes lit up. Annabeth. "What?" I asked. Suddenly, a familiar Latino elf popped into view. "Leo?" I asked, jaw dropping. "What are you-what are you doing here? I thought you were dead!"
Leo smirked. "Well, I'm back, so we can celebrate!" He froze, then frowned. "Who's-who is behind you?"
I turned and saw Tony staring at me, looking shocked. "Oh," I said. "This is-"
"Tony Stark," Leo murmured, eyes wide with awe. "You're-you're-why are you with Percy?"
"He's my uncle," I said, smiling. Leo's jaw dropped. "So, stop your fanboying and-"
"What is that?" I was aware of Bruce asking Rhodey who shrugged. Peter was standing by them, looking just as confused as them.
A young voice cut me off. "Leo," the familiar voice of the twelve year old, Harley Keener, called. "I have an idea for the, um-"
He froze as he came into view. Tony dropped his mug of coffee behind me. "What?" I asked him. "Mr. Stark?" Harley asked. "Harley?" Tony questioned. "That you?"
"Who else would it be, old man?" Harley asked. "You still have my sister's watch?"
"Oh, I wish," Tony said with a smirk. Harley nodded. "Anyway," Tony continued, smile hardening into a frown. "Where are you. What is this. And who are they?" He gestured to Leo, Piper and Jason.
Harley smiled. "Well, I am at- I suspect you've told him already, Percy - Camp Half-Blood. A camp for demigods. This is an Iris Message and these are Leo, Piper and Jason."
Tony nodded. "It's been a while," he commented. I nodded, still confused as to how the two knew each other. "Anyway, we have to go, so bye!" I waved as I swiped through the IM.
They all turned to me. "So, that's why Harley hasn't been answering my calls," Tony mumbled. Bruce looked shell-shocked. "What is that?" Peter asked. "Did you just tell us a fraction of the Greek world you're involved in?"
I nodded. "Yes," I said in a small-ish voice. "And who is this 'Harley'?" Rhodey asked. "Kid I met in Tennessee, during the whole..." He trailed off and Rhodey gave him a look of understanding.
The door opened and Pepper walked back in, holding two paper bags. She gave one to Tony and one to me. "Thanks," I said quietly and she smiled.
---
Tony and I ate our cheeseburgers outside on the roof a few minutes later, talking about Greek Mythology.
"So," he said. "When you said your dad died at sea-"
"I meant he was Poseidon, yeah," I finished. His eyes widened and he nodded. "If I'm remembering correctly," he said. "Poseidon is the Greek god of water, storms, tsunamis, sea animals, earthquakes, horses and fruit. Right?"
I spat my Coke (Coca Cola) out. "Fruit?" I choked out, laughing. Tony rolled his eyes. "Oh, ha ha," he muttered, smiling. "I got something wrong. Sorry."
We both laughed, and I finished my burger. Tony wiped his mouth with his sleeve.
"So," he said. "Harley - how did he get to your camp?"
I frowned. "Why are you so interested in him? I mean how do you know him?" I asked, propping my elbows on the table we were sitting at.
Tony leaned back in his chair. "We met after a flight with my suit went wrong." he obviously didn't want to elaborate so I didn't push him. No matter how much I wanted to know.
I sighed. "Anyway," I said. "He's a son of Hephaestus and I found him homeless on the streets in Tennessee after I was sent there to find some demigods. He was the only one there."
Tony nodded, looking dazed. "This was nice, Perce," he said. His phone started ringing. He answered the call and a thought flashed through my head:
Monsters.
Ignoring it, I turned to Tony who was still talking to the person on the phone. How long did it take to make a call anyway? Jeez.
Tony went off the call and joined me. "Got some news, kid," he said quietly. "What?" I asked. Tony met my eyes and I saw sadness - real sadness - in his eyes. "Your parents' funeral," he murmured. "It's tomorrow afternoon."
