I never meant to hurt you,
I never meant to make your heart heavy,
I never and would never want to cause you pain in any way.
But please do understand,
I need time.
When I am done burning at the end of the night,
Rest assure that the sun is coming.
Understand that,
I need rest,
I need the wax of your caring hands.
The wax that gives space and time,
And knows when to comfort me when I am weak.
For not a lot of people see me weak,
Because I am always in the shape you want me to be in.
Please understand,
That my string,
Can burn very bright indeed,
But it can also end.
End,
With a rush of your harsh windy words,
End,
With a flick of your horrid actions.
IT CAN END.
So,
Please do understand,
That the sun is coming,
And he will keep you warm and safe,
And doesn't ask for anything in return...
So,
For the last time,
Please DO understand,
The joy you give me when you let me light your way,
For I am small,
But not usless.
Understand,
That,
I shall be your light,
Until the sun comes up🙂
