The ride to Tokyolk's S.H.U.S.H headquarters was uneventful but Huey couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched.
He kept looking behind them as a seemingly odd black van continued to creep behind them.
Inspector Tezuka must have been feeling it too because she kept looking into the rear view mirror at the van also then her eyes would dart to Huey who then would fidget nervously in his set.
Violet could sense something was wrong by the way her fiance was acting, and though Huey tried to remain calm he could suppress the anxious fidgeting or the nervous sweating radiating from him.
Violet did the only thing she could think of that could calm him down. Grabbing his hand in hers and squeezing it slightly. Huey tilted his head towards her and her heart stopped when she saw the fear in his eyes. Presumably not from the situation that he know found himself in, him being the target of someone he and Violet both barely know of or about, but fear for her safety no matter his own.
The gesture seemed to help some because Huey had closed his eyes for a moment to take a big, shaky, breath before opening them and though Violet knew it was for her sake, he forced a smile.
"Seems we are being followed." Inspector Tezuka remarked, confirming Huey's fear. She looked at him through the review mirror.
She suddenly swerved the swat car quickly. Jerking both Huey and Violet making Violet violently but accidentally slam into Huey. It didn't bother him, but the sudden thought of Violet's condition made him panic.
"You okay?" He asked, her softly as she pushed off his chest. She looked up at him and for a moment she wondered if he already knew about her. But she pushed that thought aside and nodded slowly, not trusting herself to speak. Huey glared at Inspector Tezuka.
"Warn us next time you plan on driving like a maniac!" He snarled at her, making her glanced back at him again.
"What's wrong, Huebert? Thought you of all people liked living on the edge?" Inspector Tezuka snickered at him.
"Not when you are putting my fience's life at risk!" Huey shot back.
Inspector Tezuka raised a surprised eyebrow and snorted in disapproval.
"Too young." She muttered.
Huey blinked in disbelief at Tezuka's sudden shift in attitude towards him. He extremely hoped that Tezuka wasn't planning on bestowing onto him two sides of her personality. The one that cared enough to protect him, and the one that would rather see him in chains. Of course, him being sixteen and a newbie cop of Duckberg he knew what was on Inspector Tezuka's plate more then anyone and tried to sympathize her situation she was in.
Huey knew he wanted to be some part of authority figure ever since Dewey left that night. He buried himself in his studies, along with B.O.Y.D, and was able to graduate high school at the age of fourteen, and because he took more course credits then anyone all he had to do was take the online course and one year of police academy to be able to be sworn into the force at age sixteen making Huey the youngest ever to be a police officer, and with Violet being his wife soon, his life was all set for him.
What could have made it even more perfect was...
Dewey.
Huey gritted his teeth.
Why did Dewey have to show up now, when things were going so smoothly for Huey?
Sure, he had wanted to find Dewey. To bring him in for a chance to redeem himself, maybe show some sort of remorse for all he put him, Louie, and the family through. But when that doesn't seem to be the case, Huey was slowly beginning to agree with Louie that Dewey was a lost cause, that they had lost their brother forever and Huey felt himself every day since Dewey showed up that he was slowly slipping into that void of no return with his feelings towards his baby brother.
