POV: Aio
Nothing.
Numbness....Life...
What is it? Happy. No. Love. No.
Why can't I feel it?
"Aio...Aio!" I hear from a distance.
I wonder who it is...
"Wake up!"
It's closer now.
It's bright..too bright.
"What?"
"Come on Aio, It's time to get up."
"Fine."
I get up with my eyes barely open. Just enough to see who woke me up.
"Oh, good morning mom." Today is Monday.
"Morning honey," Mom says with a giggle.
"Why did you giggle?"
"You look like you haven't seen the sun in years," says Mom still giggling. " Well, it's your second year, you're a big sophomore! You don't want to be late."
I get my uniform on. I'm glad this one still fits me. I don't want to spend my money on a new uniform.
"Where's dad?" I question since his coffee mug is in the sink. It smells like diarrhea.
Mom says, "He's at work, he had to go to a meeting."
He's always at meetings. Why doesn't mom ever go to work? She never tells me what she does. I say bye to my mom and head to school on my bicycle. Summer, hot, and gross. I'm glad it's ending. Who is he? Who? Him. I look over my shoulder and see a new boy getting on his bike. I can't make out his face. I blink and he's off.
