Arriving in her driveway Amanda fused out of the car hoping her mother hadn't started dinner without her.
Hearing the noise from the Dining room she placed the key on the counter as she walked towards the dining room.
" mom" Amanda smiled as she saw her mother talking to her father as they both set the table.
" Amanda, you're back" mercy smiled as Amanda walked over to her little brother who was sitting on a chair around the table.
" so how was Jayson's" Taylor ( Amanda's father) asked as she runs her fingers through her hair
" it was good. I mean Rebecca and Marcus were so excited to see me" Amanda answered as she played in Berlins curly hair.
" wait, isn't Jayson the guy Amanda keeps compiling about?" Berline asked in confusion
Hitting Berlin on the back of his head Amanda told him to shut up.
" are they like a thing now?" Berlin continued as he placed a smiled on his face
" stop" Amanda scoffed pushing away Berlins head as he smiled " were just group partners"
" Yeah, that's what they all say"Berlin replied as mercy came back with the dish of pineapple chicken followed by Tylor with the bowl of plain white rice.
" both of you stop" mercy smiled placing the dish on the table.
Amanda gave Berlin an "I'll kill you gaze". The family then held hands as they prayed before start eating dinner.
" so how was your day guys," Tylor asked as he took a sip from his glass of wine
" good for me" Berlin answered as he looked over to Amanda " how about you? "
Rolling her eyes at him she cleared her throat " fine" she answers taking a gulp of her water
" what?" she asked" when she saw that her parents where looking at her
"well just fine?" her mother asked as Amanda nods
" Yeah, my day was fine" she replied taking another spoon full of her food.
"Well, what about your day with Ja-"
" mom, please, don't start this again. Jayson and I will never like each other. Were not friends in any sorta way" Amanda spoke bluntly cutting off her mother.
She then up from the table and wiped her mouth with the napkin smiling at everybody
" I'm tired, I'm going to bed "
With her last statement, Amanda saw the look on her mother's face. The guilt she felt for bringing up Jayson's name again. but Amanda didn't care, she always does it. every dinner and every game night she brings his name up to her and she's frustrated and tired of all of it.

Waking up to an alarm Amanda rolled out of bed falling to the floor slowly.
Tho Amanda had good grades and a good reputation at the school, she still had to keep the perfect attendance up to date.
Crawling to the shower she stood up looking at herself in the mirror. she couldn't believe she fell asleep in the clothes she wore to Jayson's house. Or worse. What she wore to dinner.
Feeling disgusted with herself she jumped out of her clothes stepping into the shower.
" now what should I wear?" she asked herself as she looked at the variety of clothes in her closet.
" we know white is out of the picture. Don't what that ass to be throwing another drink on me again" she scoffed
Sliding the hangers she took out a black mini blouse with a small jacket to cover her exposed shoulder. she then threw on black jeans with a white belt and white air forces.
She took up her glasses as she forgot to get new contacts to replace the ones she lost. She then took up her bag packing her books and taking up her phone heading downstairs
" morning" she sighed as she opens the fridge taking out a bottle of water.
" morning sweetheart" mercy replied placing a plate of boiled eggs and buttered toast " breakfasts? "
" yes. I'm starving" Amanda smiled as she took up a toast taking a bite from it.
" mom" she paused waiting for mercy to acknowledge her. " look I'm sorry for how I reacted at dinner last night". she signed " I shouldn't have spoken to you in that tone and it will never happen again"
Walking over to her mercy gave her a hug rubbing her back " it's fine a baby, it was my fault. I shouldn't of mentioned Jayson. Again"
Giving her the puppy dog eyes Amanda looked at her mother " can we please be back best friends now""
sure" mercy laughed as she kissed Amanda on the forehead.
