"Yes, Mom, you're welcome to visit if you'd like."

"But do you think she'll want to see us?"

"Don't assume she's standoffish. You know Taeyeon is genuinely kind."

"Alright then. We'll come by. Take care of yourself, son. Someone needs to stay strong for her."

"Yes, Mom. Love you."

"Keep the faith, Baekhyun. In God's name."

"Yeah," he replied before ending the call.

Baekhyun believed that, in due time, things would improve. His mother had always supported their relationship, expressing her pride in having Taeyeon as his girlfriend.

He let out a sigh as he rose from his bed. Managing to catch a brief three-hour nap, he was grateful that his mother's call had woken him up at the expected time.

He headed straight to the bathroom, preparing for a quick shower.

Somehow, he rushed through his routine, managing to get ready within an hour. Soon enough, he was in his car, en route to the grocery store before making his way to the hospital. He had also packed some clothes for himself, deciding to remain at the hospital until Taeyeon was discharged.

Her fellow members had already brought a plethora of fruits, so there was no need for him to purchase more. After adjusting his cap and putting on his aviators, he stepped into the grocery store.

He picked up all of Taeyeon's favorite snacks and some food for the girls. They had brought plenty for her, yet refrained from bringing much for themselves. They were staying by her side, only leaving for brief periods before returning.

With his purchases complete, he paid for the items and exited the store, holding onto four large plastic bags.

He stowed the bags in the backseat before settling into the driver's seat. Just as he was about to start the engine, his phone began to ring.

On the other end was Lawyer Shin.

"How's the investigation progressing?" he inquired as he answered the call.

"We've got some promising news. If you're able, please make your way to the police station. We've located the suspects. Mr. Lee Soo Man's legal team is also present, and they've already informed SM about the developments."

"Alright, I'll head there immediately," he responded before ending the call.

Tightening his grip on the steering wheel, he felt his thoughts consumed by a burning desire to confront those responsible for Taeyeon's ordeal. With determination, he pressed down hard on the gas pedal, causing the car to accelerate swiftly. He paid little heed to his speed; his focus was reaching the police station as swiftly as possible.

Within half an hour, he pulled up at the police station. He practically sprinted inside.

Lawyer Shin awaited him at the entrance. "Baekhyun—"

"Where can I find them?" he interrupted, not breaking his stride as he pressed ahead, leaving Lawyer Shin behind.

The lawyer caught up, explaining, "They're currently in the Chief's office," leading him up the stairs.

His steps echoed with a mix of urgency and fury. Upon entering the office, he took in the presence of several men in suits, police officers, and a figure in a unique uniform—the chief, he presumed—gathered in discussion.

The room's atmosphere was tense as his gaze scanned the area, eventually fixing on the two men donning black shirts seated on the sofa. Swiftly and unhesitatingly, he advanced towards the slender individual among them, clutching his collar and forcibly pushing him against the wall with fierce determination.
