Okay, so now let's talk about placement and spacing.

First, a general rule is that script fonts don't look good super spread out, but sans serif does. See this:

Be careful when placing your text, don't just slap it on and think 'it will do'. No, rearrange it until you think 'this is perfect!' lol that was cringe but whatever, I'm just saying think about where you put your text. It's not just about the font.

And when placing your text, think about the image. You don't want to cover up the main focus of the image and you need the cover to feel balanced.

So don't do this:

Like seriously, why would you put text there? The design feels unbalanced because everything is at the top, the text is hard to read, and it's covering up the subject of the cover

Be mindful when your placing your text how close it is to the edges. Ideally, it shouldn't go close to the edges, and definitely shouldn't touch them, so if you need to break up longer words, then do. As in:

This really doesn't look very good. The only time having text touch the edges like that works is if it's an obvious stylish choice that's been considered and thought out, rather than you just being lazy, which is what the example above looks like.

works.  Because it's a choice that suits the style and nature of the cover.

Another thing to think about is the colour of your text. It needs to be readable. So don't put white text on a light background, or black text on a dark background. A general rule is that it should use a colour from the images used, so it doesn't look completely out of place.

The text is a similar colour to the fire, and contrasts the background. So it stands out, is readable, but also works with the colour scheme of the graphic.

So I think that's the basics of text. It's really not that hard to make text look nice, a lot of it is common sense and you'll already be doing some of it without thinking about it. The rest is just practise.
