Silence filled the space. Regina took a moment to catch her breath before she ran over to Robin. "Your face!" She exclaimed, "Let me clean you up.." She helped him into a chair as she began to gently clean his bloody face. "Regina" He stated calmly, "I'm fine. Did you hurt yourself?" He gave her a worried look as she shook head. The woman looked tired, her eyes misted over as if she were lost at sea. She was hurting and exhausted, Robin could tell, although he knew he needed to give her time.
When Regina had finished, she insisted on cleaning up the mess the fight had left so Robin could rest. Reluctantly, he let her and sat down. He watched her as she cleaned almost silently, "We can sort the rest out tomorrow," He smiled softly. Alas, she shook her head and began to carry on. Slowly Robin stood up and walked over to her, "Regina, come and sit down" He ordered softly as he took her hand and lead her over to the sofa.
The moment Regina sat down, her eyes began to close. "I think it's someone's bed time," Robin teased. Regina laughed softly and replied, "I'll just sleep on the sofa, you should get some rest too." This time it was Robin who was laughing, "Regina, you're my guest, you can have my bed, I'll sleep on the sofa!" He put his hand on her thigh and stood up "I'll see if I can find something for you to wear." He gestured for her to get up and made his way to his room.
After finding something for Regina to wear, he left her in peace. Reluctant but not without thanks, Regina got into Robin's comfortable bed and was asleep within seconds. In the other room however, Robin was laying on the sofa wide awake. His mind was racing with thoughts, worries, scenario's and conspiracies surrounding his mother's death. However hard he tried, he just couldn't shake the feeling that it was never an accident.
Robin lay there for a while, the house silent. Just as he began to doze off, he heard a faint scream from the bedroom. Quickly, he got up and ran in to see Regina sat up with her head in her hands. Regina was an upset, sweaty mess. Robin knew what that felt like, he knew what it felt like to be haunted with nightmares.
He made his way over and wrapped an arm around her as she slowly calmed down. Once she'd caught her breath, they talked for a while about the nightmare. Eventually, Regina's eyes began to close once again and Robin carefully got up. As he did, Regina his hand gently; she asked him to stay and gestured for him to lie next to her. Robin lay down and to his surprise Regina snuggled into him as he softly stroked her head. For the majority of the night, they both slept peacefully.
The next morning, Robin was making breakfast. He'd had a restless night, the events of the night before had triggered old forgotten memories. As usual, he pushed it all aside and focused on something else, this morning it was cooking. He'd made practically a full fry up by the time Regina had woken up.
Regina sat up, the delicious smell of cooked bacon guided her to the kitchen. "Morning" She smiled softly as she leaned against the kitchen door frame. "Morning. Did you sleep okay?" He asked, briefly looking up from the nearly cooked food. "Yes thank you, did you?" She replied, "Can I help with anything? Maybe I could make some coffee ?"
He nodded, "that would be great." Regina made coffee while Robin dished up the breakfast. They both sat down and ate. "The food's lovely, maybe I could cook you breakfast some time" Regina smiled as she ate. Robin nodded and chuckled, "Thank you, I'm sure we can work something out." When they'd both finished, Robin took the dishes to the sink and began washing up. Regina grabbed a tea towel and dried. After they'd finished, they both started putting away the clean dishes. Regina was putting away the plates, Robin was stood closely behind waiting to put away the bowls.
Once she'd put them away, Regina turned around and came face to face with Robin. For a moment, they looked into each others eyes before Robin placed the bowls on the side. The brunette grabbed Robin by the shirt and pulled him into a soft passionate kiss. Gently, he put his hands around her waist and lifted her up onto the counter. Hastily, only breaking the kiss for a second, Regina pulled off both his top and hers. Robin began placing small kisses down her neck as he lifted her up and carried her to the bedroom.
