Xander has been sitting next to Naya's bedside for the past twenty-four hours, hoping she will gain consciousness, but so far nothing. He went sparring now and then, while her parents where watching over her, to let loose some of the anger.
His father had gotten a healer to check on her and she said all was fine. She just reached a burnout and needed some rest.
Xander couldn't wrap his head around what happened. One moment she was screaming, the next she was going to be arrested, then she attacked her uncle and if he hadn't killed those guards, Naya might have been seriously hurt. What the hell, was he thinking? He killed five guards just to protect Naya. After those events fire and darkness was in a locked battle and then she was defeated. He didn't know what exactly went through his mind as he ran and stood in front of Naya, taking that blow for her.
Xander now stood in front of the Ivory doors leading to her room and knocked. He heard footsteps and then the click of the door handle. The door opened and Naya's father stood in front of it with his wife. They stood aside letting him in and they exited to the lounge, the queen smiling faintly as she passed by.
Xander sat his usual spot in the white chair next to her bed, just staring. For some reason he hoped she would get annoyed at him for staring and then wake up and punch him, but that never happened.
Xander heard footsteps leave, assuming it was her parents to get some rest. He volunteered to guard her, not revealing his true intensions, but he assumed her parents might already know, that he just wants to make sure she is safe.
Xander started to fall asleep, exhaustion suddenly catching up to him. He suddenly woke up at the sound of the window crashing open and closed. He stood up to go close it.
Out of nowhere three black figures emerged and he reached for his sword, but he wasn't fast enough. There was a soft bang and pain washed through his leg. Another bang and he was grabbing his stomach, crying out in pain. His leg and stomach was drenched with blood and he fell to the floor.
As Naya was lifted over one of the men's shoulders, Xander stretched out a hand to try and reach her but he couldn't, and they disappeared back in the night sky.
Xander didn't know where she was how he would find her, but there was one thing he knew for certain. That he will tear this world apart brick by brick to find her.
