"LeafPaw!"
A feminine voice shrilled from the open clearing of BerryClan camp. Yet no one was surprised.
A brown tabby she-cat stood fluffed out with irritation over a lazing light blonde tom. She glared down at him, "What have you been doing?! We had a training session this morning and you totally flaked!!"
LeafPaw watched her from his comfortable position on the ground, being generally aloof even with her yelling. He listened to her scolding him, for skipping out on training and never doing anything for the clan.
"- How are you even going to become a Warrior if you don't do anything to deserve it?!" She growled out before becoming out of breath. She panted while waiting for a retort from him.
LeafPaw waited a solid minute before answering, "Are you sure I do absolutely nothing, CloverPaw? Nothing at all?"
"You sleep, laze and eat, as far as I can tell, " She huffed. "I've never seen you hunt, you never go with patrols, and the few times you've been dragged to training you just laze about, like you are right now!"
"Right you are," LeafPaw began with a smile, "But have you ever considered that I do things when you aren't looking?"
CloverPaw bristled with frustration, thinking that LeafPaw was just trying to get out of trouble, "If it's not within my sight, then fine. But it seems to be within no one's sight! So quit being silly and actually do something for our Clan, you mouse-brained log!!"
She stormed away in a huff towards her mentor, BlotchedHolly, RockPaw, and his mentor MapleTail. She dared not look back knowing LeafPaw would have an innocent but taunting smile for her.
"I can't anyone allows him to do nothing," CloverPaw hissed as she sat next to the brown and ginger tom she trained alongside. "It's unfair to the Clan!"
Blotched Holly sighed, "His mentor is the one that's responsible for his training, CloverPaw, not you or us."
"If TalonStar finds no progress, she'll switch him to someone stricter," MapleTail nodded in agreement to the mostly white she-cat. "And if he really was needed to do something, then he would be doing it."
CloverPaw didn't like those answers. She sat with slightly bristled fur as she tried to accept what she was being told, that LeafPaw got away with what he does.
RockPaw looked at her, seeing her bothered by the whole situation. A quick glance to their mentors told him that they also weren't completely behind their own words. Not wanting CloverPaw to dwell on the subject, he made a suggestion, "Why don't we go hang out with the others, CloverPaw? We won't be able to for long, since they'll be Warriors soon."
CloverPaw glared at her tom friend with a look as sharp as daggers, which quickly softened as she gave in to his idea, "... Alright, let's go find them."
They both excused themselves from their mentors and walked over to the Apprentice Den, where RavenPaw, GoldenPaw, and RowanPaw relaxed in the shade by the entrance of the den...

Brisk late greenleaf night air pricked at the fur of sleeping cats, with the waning cresent moon traveling across the sky.
