Chapter 7: Applause
Loki's POV
Fury finally decided to let me go on my first assignment as an agent trainee. Due to my performance in; physical assessment tests and improvements within teamwork and empathy. Thanks to Dr. Gert.
I was assigned to bring into custody a tricky Inhuman that, slipped from the hands of the authorities; as well as some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s metas. Luckily, I am a master of tricks.
Although my powers had been neutralized since I was recruited; It was promised that, the device would be removed for this particular mission. However, to ensure I wouldn't get any ideas of escaping; it was replaced by a device that would shock if I went past a one mile radius.
Before I went on a search for the target, I was given a file document of him.
His name was Riel Nickels, notorious for burgling multiple banks and still wanted in other various states. He possesses the ability of invisibility.
I had also spoken with the metas that encountered him so, that I would know what to expect. But, most of the sorcery lessons my mother taught me should come in handy. I was also given a gadget; a set of glasses that exposes the thermal heat of any mammal. As well as, seventy-two hours to find him.
He was last seen heading to Maryland. I was escorted there by the F.B.I., Malinda, as well as one other S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. As the neutralizing device was removed and replaced with the shocking device. I was mentally preparing myself to perform a locator spell, with an item which belonged to the target.
After imbuing the object with my intention, it began to travel to a certain direction. I instructed the search team to follow it, ensuring them that it will lead us to our target.
He was definitely in hiding, it led us to a cabin in the most rural area. The F.B.I. kicked down the door as the object continued to float; until landing onto the far right corner of the room. "I thought you said he would be here?" An agent mentions.
"He's invisible, he must've seen us coming." "Shut the doors and windows!" Mal instructs. I place on the thermal glasses and I saw the figure run to the back of the house. I knew wouldn't catch him if I just followed so, I cast an illusion to divert him. Once he was off his guard, that was when I took him down.
He reappeared and I had the other agent handcuff him and place him in the vehicle. As the F.B.I. confiscated all of the stolen cash.

As I entered the lobby to the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility I had gotten a large round of applause from; the staff, agents and trainees. News spreads very quickly here. "Well done, Odinson for helping us complete one of our most difficult assignments." Director Fury states. "It is my honour." I reply.
