"NICE KILL!"
It was another day at practice, I was helping the boys with their warm-ups. So far it was just spikes and receives. We're planning to work on their serves though.
Noya wanted to receive a spike from me so we partnered up and practiced on that. We got closer as practice progressed. He had a different yet similar way of seeing the court. He asked me questions as we progressed.
~~timeskip~~
We were playing another set. We practiced the official thing so we get used to adapting to every teammate. We often switched groups so we can figure more strategies and the setters can adjust to the spikers. I suggested the idea, I knew the others wanted to play along so I thought this was the best way for everyone to have a fair game.
Again, they were still not used to my sudden change of mood...
"LET'S GO, HINATA!!"
"YAHOOO"
*(Y/N) gets in position*
"......"
"(Y/N), lets-"
'focus focus focus focus focus focus focus'
To be honest, my original team didn't get used to it either. I mean I have only met them for a year and that's still quite short. Plus the only reason why I'm back here is...
"(Y/N)!"
I dived and just barely got the ball, but it still went up. I shifted my attention back to the game, this isn't the time to reminisce. I had to roll over so someone else can cover me.
"Sorry! Cover!"
Somehow we still got a point from that. I'm glad I met this team, I would want to stay with them until the end.
~~timeskip~~
We took a break for a while. They were sweating so much. Well, I did sweat but not as much as them. I checked my phone, like I always do, to check if I had any messages. In fact, I was right. It was from Yaku. I was gonna check it when Ukai called me over.
He started to discuss the strategies he got from the match we had earlier. I was glad to hear that he might be able to make all the third-years play. When I thought he was finished, he continues to speak,
"(Y/N), were you able to visit grandma?"
"I haven't got the chance to this week,"
Ukai sighed and I followed, we both knew what would happen but I didn't want to admit it. Grandma would always be the one who supported me, the reason why I got where I am today. Life isn't always fair.
I went back and sat beside the wall, I thought when I could schedule an appointment. I couldn't even go today even if I could, Ukai doesn't want me to go when she is having some tests. Noya walked up to me and kneeled so he would inline his face with mine.
"Hey,"
I gave him a smile and stood up.
"We have another game, don't we?"
I lend him my hand as support so he could stand up, he smiled and walked to the court as we were preparing for another set. I got my phone to read the message Yaku sent me.
Strawberry-kun
I'm here in your town to visit a relative, wanna hang out and practice for a bit?
I smiled as my eyes lit up, it's not every day someone visits from Tokyo. I replied, saying the time and place we met. I could still play a game and ask to leave early.
"Oi! Little crow! come on we're waiting for you"
............
I looked at Noya in disbelief, did he not realize what he just called me. Everyone else seemed to have noticed it and Tsukishima was already grinning because he expected rejection.
"NISHINOYA!"
Ukai said as he smacked his head making him fall on his face. Ukai was still protective of me like he was my brother or something. I laughed at Noya who was still on the floor but blushing. Takeda-sensei had to drag Ukai out so he wouldn't hurt Noya more.
"Eh? BRO THAT WAS NICE!!"
Tanaka said as he patted his back, even if it hurt. He didn't realize it as he was laughing and smiling, teasing Noya with what he did.
After a set, I told Ukai I needed to meet a friend from Tokyo. He was suspicious of this friend I said but I told him I'm not that type of person. I'm just being kind and accepting the offer.
I said goodbye to the rest of the team and went on my way.
(chapter bonus; 3rd P.O.V.)
As the team went home, Tanaka went beside Noya.
"Little crow~~ Litle Crow~~"
"Shut up-"
Tsukishima was already laughing thinking about the name, Noya's just sold himself out.
"So, So, Noya, how long have you referred to them like that?"
"IT JUST CAME OUT MY MOUTH-"
and so then, Noya went home pouting while still blushing.
(A/N, sorry these have been getting shorter, I'll make it up to ya'll I promise TT)
