(3rd P.O.V.)

Early in the morning (y/n) came running into the gym and opened the door with the spare key they asked from Takeda.

"GOOOOD MORNING!" they said into the empty gym. They looked around and noticed they were way too early, so they got a volleyball and started practicing some sets and just tossed the ball around. Right now, their companion was the wall itself.

"I had fun yesterday, strawberry came to visit so we hung out and all. ooh, he even..."

(y/n) continued to express their happiness to the inanimate wall. The first years walked into the gym to see (y/n) focused on the conversation. Kageyama and Yamaguchi were staring at you while Tsuki started making fun of you.

"Oi, (y/n), what are you doing?" asked Hinata

(y/n) was startled and realized they're not alone anymore. They laughed it off and greeted each one of them.

"I never thought you were that dumb to not notice what's not human."

"EHH, it's not like that!"

"What even got you so excited to talk to a wall?"

"well.."

(y/n) proceeded with telling them about what has happened yesterday and their eyes were practically glowing due to their joy.

"So, the shorty got in a date huh-"

When (y/n) heard this, they immediately stopped talking and turned red. Within seconds (y/n) denied everything and started saying excuses like 'I was just being a good friend' or 'It's not like THAT'. The 2nd and 3rd years came in to see their assistant coach being surrounded by the first years, blushing.

"Oh, Morning!" Hinata said running over to them telling them about (y/n)'s "date".

"Eh? (y/n) with a person from Nekoma?"

"He came all from Tokyo? Wow.."

"WHO TOOK OUR QUEEN ON A DATE???"

"Wow, nice move (y/n)."

As the whole team started asking (y/n) question, there was a certain pouting figure near the doors of the gym, staring at (y/n). Who knew what was going through his head, I mean obviously it's jealousy but would he admit it? He was about to tick when

"OI, PAN-CHAN WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?!"

Coach Ukai yelled beside Noya. He was a furious overprotective cousin and he started to chase (y/n) who was running around the gym, escaping his wrath.

"Ni-chan I tell you, it was not a date!"

"Tell that first to my face!!"

Eventually, Ukai got tired and (y/n) was sticking their tongue out at them. It was still early in the morning and they were already panting. The others decided to start their warm-ups, starting with stretching. (y/n) joined in and asked Hinata to help her out.

"Asahi, try bending more."

Asahi was there struggling to keep reaching forward. Hinata was behind (y/n) as they reached out and stretched in ease. Hinata didn't even need to push (y/n) down and they could stay close to the floor for 15 seconds.

Next were the serves. As usual, Kageyama did a good serve like he always does. (a/n: I'm biased, sorry--) As everyone followed, (y/n) still continued to join them. They still had so much energy after what happened.

One specific person was more aggressive today. Kiyoko walked in a little late because she had to bring papers for the volleyball club. Tanaka immediately greeted Kiyoko while Noya was deep in thought. He was staring at the wall (y/n) was talking to.

Tanaka looked at his supposed to be simp partner and was shocked. This wasn't like Noya since Kiyoko was their goddess. The whole team noticed this and started to ask Noya if he was sick. When Noya snapped back to reality, he immediately praised Kiyoko for her looks and style and everything in between.

(y/n) stared at Noya, they didn't know what they were feeling but it was something. It felt like her heart was excited but at the same time being stabbed with a knife. Instead they smiled and continued to practice their serves.

Soon Takeda walks, more likely stumbles, into the gym and told them about Nekoma's training camp. Karasuno got invited in. The members were shocked while (y/n) looked at Ukai who gave her the 'I forgot' look. They mentally face-palmed and pretended they didn't know about it either, even if Ukai got a call from Nekomata-sensei.

Hinata and NIshinoya were jumping in excitement, the fact that they can come back to Tokyo. You on the other hand, was smiling and cheering for them.

"Eh? Are you not going (y/n)?" Sugawara asks.

"Well, I-"

"Of course she is, she's pan-chan, our assistant manager."

(y/n) looked up at Ukai who placed a hand on her shoulder. They smiled instead of asking him to explain himself. When Sugawara smiled back and left, (y/n) whisper yells at Ukai 'back. Now.'

"OI! What was that?"

"Pan-chan, what difference would it make if you stayed here?"

"At least I could stay with grandma more..."

"Pan-chan, maybe grandma was the reason that brought you back but it doesn't mean it will only be the reason to stay."

"....I'm not going to stay..."

"Pan-chan"

"Who said I would be staying, the only reason I ever came back to visit was grandma.."

The atmosphere became cold and silent. Sure (y/n) may have the "perfect" life but who said it was.

"Ukai, my parents let me stay with you and not them, don't you think it's clear enough?"

(y/n) said as they went back into the gym. Everyone noticed their sudden change of mood but no one dared question it. Ukai looked at the space where (y/n) was. It was the bitter truth.

"Alright, that ends the meeting."

Everyone was keeping their stuff and (y/n) told Ukai she'd go home with the rest. Normally, Ukai would have disagreed but after what happened, he decided to let them pass.

"(y/n), are you okay?" asked Hinata

(y/n) gave a small nod

"It's just about school stuff, I have to get those done so I won't fall behind in class."

Noya overheard the conversation and could hear the bitterness in (y/n)'s voice. He slowed down his pace to walk beside (y/n).

"Say, say, (y/n), what's your favorite food?"

"Hmmm? Oh, I guess it would be...(name of food)"

"I see, wait here."

(y/n) looked at Noya as he ran ahead to the convenience store. They knew what was going to happen. It's going to be a cliché scene from a romance novel or something. She sighed knowing he made the wrong move.

As they stood outside as Daichi bought them food again, Noya came out and gave (y/n) (name of food). He blushed and placed his hand beside his neck, scratching it a bit.

(y/n) smiled and accepted it. The team was both teasing them and waiting for-

"OI, NISHINOYA, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?"

And there was Ukai, this was their store. This was where (y/n) was headed to, and being the protective cousin he is, Ukai shouted at Noya.

(y/n) pushed Ukai back in the store and waved good bye to the team.
