I was running to the nearest park to meet up with Yaku. There he was, smiling and waving at me.
"STRAWWBERRRRYYYYYY"
I shouted running towards him then hugging him. He was in shock but eventually hugged back.
"What are you doing here?"
"I was visiting someone, a cousin. Only for today though, my parents just wanted to see how they were doing so they sent me"
"I see, let's go!"
"where?"
"Well, there's a small space there where we can play."
I dragged him to the secluded area in the park. My family went here before and I would always play with some friends. I brought out the volleyball in my bag, I always brought a spare one.
We played some rounds for a while. He taught me some techniques he used and kept practicing for both our focus to get better. We got tired and it was getting quite late. I caught the ball instead of receiving it.
"Don't you have to go back home?"
"There's still a train by 7 p.m. "
I looked at the time. 5:30.
"Hey, Yaku, let's go somewhere."
"where?"
"Just trust me, my treat by the way"
I winked at him and grabbed his arm.

This person dragged me to a small cafe. It doesn't seem like many people know of it yet. We both stepped in and it was a little cat-themed. It was pretty cute as if they would be a cafe, this is what it would look like.
"Wait here, I'll choose for you"
"Uhm, sure."
What an unusual way to go to a cafe. They order for me, that's new. Well, it's pretty cute seeing them so excited. They sat right on the opposite side of my seat.
"You know, I used to come here when I was younger. My family kept bringing me here. They sell the best stir-fried vegetables! Not that I'm a fan but I like it!"
"Stir-fried vegetables?"
"Yeah, I ordered one for you, it's a must."
Did they know I liked those? Maybe, just a coincidence. Those happen. We talked about the random stuff until the food came. We gave our thanks and started eating. When their chopsticks entered their mouth, their eyes were filled with warmth.
They weren't lying when they said the food was good. It really is, I should consider going here more.
"So, whumph is hapeninch in your lifumph?"
"Don't speak while eating,"
They smile apologetically and swallowed her food and smiled.
"What's been happening in your life?"
"Not much, we have a training camp soon."
"ooh-"
They paused and looked dumbfounded. Then they were thinking about something, then suddenly came back to that bubbly self. How easily can they change their mind?
"OH, we were invited to that!!"
"really? so you're going?" I said finishing my food.
"maybe, maybe not. I'm not quite sure of my schedule."
their expression suddenly gloomed and I decided to move on from the topic. I checked the time and it was getting late. They noticed this and offered to walk me to the station.
"No, you don't need to do that!"
"I insist! Plus, I have to stop by somewhere after."
So they won that and we walked to the station. They kept pointing at things saying adorable stuff. They were smiling most of the time.
When we arrived they grabbed my arm.
"Well, see you soon!"
"You'll be okay going back?"
"mhm! bye-bye strawberry-kun!!"
With that, they hugged me tight and left. She turned around and gestured me to get on the train, so I did. When the train started moving and passed her, she was waving at me. I smiled and settled on the train, watching the scenery unfold.
maybe, it's a crush, maybe......

It was not that late yet so I stopped by the hospital to visit my grandmother. Her test must be done by now. My heart dropped to my stomach upon entering the building. As I entered the room, she was there laying on the bed.
"gramma, it's me, pan-chan." I smiled trying to cheer the mood.
She couldn't respond but she looked at me and smiled. I sat on the seat beside her, I then told her all the things that have happened since the last time I have seen her.
Ukai walked in and saw me there.
"Oi, pan-chan!"
I smiled at him and we started talking while grandma was listening. She was still smiling and I was glad. We spent a few hours there before our aunt came in to take care of her now.
As we left the building, Ukai opened the doors in his car as I sat in.
"Did the doctors have progress?"
"Unfortunately, no. Not so far."
It was getting more awkward by the minute so I asked him about the training camp.
"Are we going to the training camp in Tokyo?"
"I'm going, but you don't have to. Auntie will take care of gramma"
"but...."
"You don't have to force the decision now, you have time to rethink about it."
I slouched and looked at the window. But would the guilt affect me there too?
I haven't been there for grandma for years and I come back to see her laying in a hospital bed. What if I had been here instead?
When we arrived home I went straight to the room.
"Oi, pan-chan, aren't you gonna eat?"
"I'm done,"
I got my phone and texted strawberry-kun wondering if he was still awake. He didn't reply so he must have fallen asleep. I laid there unable to sleep. So I let my thoughts consume me until my eyes give in.
