"Ow..." I groaned. Why am I so cold? I tried moving, but I felt as stiff as a steel bar. I groaned again, as I forced myself to get up, wincing at the many cracks.
"Hey, are you ok?" I heard a kid's voice ask. I slowly opened my eyes, squinting under the sun. A bald, pale boy, wearing Air Nomad robes, and Master Tattoo's stood over me, a worried expression visibly shown.
"I...don't know," I answered, my voice very hoarse. "I...could use...some water," I said, looking around. We were in a sea, Arctic, or Antarctic. We rested in an Iceberg, slowly drifting along the choppy water.
"Sure thing, let me help you up," he said, trying to haul my arm. Instead, he slipped on the ice, and looked like he was trying to move a mountain as an ant.
"You're...very...heavy..." he exclaimed, still struggling. "Aang, do you need some help?" A girl's voice asked. "Yes...please..." the kid answered. 2 other kids picked up my legs, and dragged me out of the little indent I was in.
The girl had dark skin, black hair with 2 strands in a loop by her head. She wore a blue fur coat with white fluff. Her brother, or I assume to be her brother, had dark skin, black hair, and wore a similar set of garbs. He carried a Southern Water Tribe Mace, and a sharp Boomerang. She carried a Water Pouch.
They helped me stand, the boys holding my arms over their shoulders. "What's your name?" The girl asked. "Perseus, but you can call me Percy," I answered. "Katara," she replied with a friendly smile.
She elbowed the boomerang guy. "What?! Oh...I'm Sokka," he introduced. "I'm Katara's Older Brother." "Nice to meet you. One Question: Where are we? I know it's a pole, but which one?" I asked.
"South, just a few miles away from the Southern Water Tribe," Katara answered. I nodded in thanks, and tried to stand on my own. Tried. "This is annoying. Could you get me to the water," I asked, weakly pointing to the sea.
They carried me over, and set me on the edge. My legs dangling in the water, and I started feeling better. The water traveled up my legs, and around my body, Healing anything I need healed, and reenergizing me.
"You're a Water Bender?!" Katara exclaimed in awe. "In a way," I answered, sinking into the sea. The boys were too slow, as I sunk into the ocean. I sunk deeper, until I hit the sea floor. "Ah, this is nice," I said, relaxing along the sand, as it dried beneath me.
"Milord?" I suddenly heard, eliciting a groan of annoyance from me. "You know of me?" I asked, not even looking to the school of fish. "Of course, milord. All Aquatic Life, no matter the origin, are loyal to the Lords of the Sea," the fish answered.
"Just my luck. Please, don't make this a big deal. I wish not to be worshipped," I said. "But...yes, milord. However, the best we can do is treat you as of a high ranking government official or military leader," he said.
"Fine, I'll allow it. Are there any others I should be wary of?" I asked. "The Spirit, La. The Spirit of the Ocean. It will probably challenge you, or bow to you, but it is unknown," he said. "Thank you. Now, please leave. I'm healing," I said. He nodded, in his way, and guided his class away.
I looked up, and saw a hexapedal, large creature swimming away. "A Sky Bison? How the Hades did I miss that?" I wondered, before jetting towards them. I breached the surface, like a dolphin, did a front flip, and landed in a superhero landing pose on the Bison's Saddle.
"Show off," Sokka said. "When I get the chance, I'm always going to show off," I replied smoothly, scooting over to the edge of the saddle. "So, where we off to?" I asked. "Our village," Sokka answered, then pointed his club at me. "Don't try anything evil."
"How would I know what you would consider is evil? I could be doing something that is a normal, friendly occurrence for me, and then get attacked by you because you were unaware of my actions," I answered.
"He has a point," Katara said. "Don't hurt anyone," Sokka said. "Sparring? That's hurting someone via training in combat," I retorted. Sokka threw his hands up in the air, defeated.
"How old are you?" Katara asked. "Depends how long I was frozen for. But, last I checked, I was 17," I answered. "You?" "I'm 14," Katara said. "I'm 12!" Aang shouted. "I'm 16," Sokka replied.
"Ok, almost all of us are teens, with Aang being the child, got it," I said. "I'm not a child," Aang defended. "The first thing you said, was asking Katara to go penguin sledding," Sokka retorted. I burst out laughing. "Yes, definitely not a child," I said sarcastically, in between fits of laughter.
Aang just pouted, and continued steering the Bison.
Time Skip:
We continued chatting, until we arrived upon the village. It was small, holding few tents of blue cloth. A hardened snow wall stood around it, and a poorly constructed tower was built up behind it. Very few tribeswomen were present, all the men vacant.
"Where are the Hunters? The Soldiers?" I asked. "Off to War. The Fire Nation have been attacking the world for the last century," Sokka answered, sorrowfully. "My condolences," I said, patting his arm.
"Katara, Sokka, whom have you brought?" A old woman asked, her skin wrinkly. "Gran Gran, this is Aang, and Percy," Katara called, gesturing to each of us respectively. "And are they the fish you were meant to get?" Gran Gran asked.
"Do not blame Katara, Miss. she and her Brother have freed us from an icy prison. We were frozen in an Iceberg, and without them, we would've stayed there much longer. You should congratulate them for rescuing, and saving 2 individuals," I scolded, in my best Admiral voice.
She scanned me skeptically, before nodding and walking away. "Next time, just close your mouth," Katara scolded. "No promises. I have a reputation for not giving shit about authority," I replied.
She huffed, and walked away. Aang followed her, and Sokka unloaded the saddle. I looked around, until I focused on the tower. "Might as well do something good," I mumbled, and made my way over, with the intention of upgrades.
