Kara's POV
'Goodmorning Alex!'
I'm refreshing the water of the flowers on the kitchen table, before breaking the warm bread I just got from the market. I hum a little melody but then stop when I feel two eyes drilling into my back. I turn around to see Alex look at me like my head had just swollen to the size of a planet.
'What?'
'What has gotten into you?' She asks, still showing me each bit of her eyeballs.
'Morgana and I had a talk.' I say lightly, shrugging my shoulders, while preparing the bread.
Alex scoffs, 'You're calling her Morgana now?'
I smile and then sadden a little, 'She is going through a lot. But she finally admitted that she shouldn't have punished me for her anger. Oh and she is a sorceress.'
'Woah, so you are on good terms now?', I nod, 'I'm so happy for you, Kara!'
'Thanks', I say while gesturing her to sit down and eat, 'But I do feel a little nervous for our morning ride.'
'Why? Oh and this bread is amazing.'
'I'm just not sure how she will act. Perhaps she'll think our talk from yesterday was completely embarassing and won't mention it again. I'm just scared she will shut herself out again.'
'Well, then you make sure that doesn't happen. Just make her feel comfortable, you're very good at that anyway. I'm sure you'll manage.'
I smile at my sister and realise that Morgana hasn't had someone to just share stuff with for quite a while. It would drive me crazy. She has to know that I will be there for her from now on.
'It's time. I'll see this afternoon. Love you!' And I head for the stables.
Morgana's POV
I'm talking to a horse and I thought I was getting less delusional.
'Yeah, I know, there's nothing to be afraid of but one's sense of logic just can't be used to explain feelings sometimes, you know?'
The horse sniffs and I pet her graceful neck.
'Of course you'd know, you're a mother. You know love like no other. And love is the most illogical thing- Kara!'
'Goodmorning, were you talking to a horse?'
Oh my.
'No.'
She bursts out in laughter, 'Yes you were.'
'One more word about it and I'm leaving without you.'
'But who would take care of you if you fell?'
I playfully slap her before getting on the horse. The beauty of this forest hits me every time. Especially in the early morning when the low sun caresses the trees with light from the east, making the dew drops on the leafs sparkle. It makes me believe every natural thing posesses its own kind of magic. I get disturbed from my trance by a gentle voice.
'What's on your mind?'
'The beauty of nature.' I say without getting my eyes of a little bird chirping on the highest branch. I wonder what he is saying. Perhaps he's calling for help but, because no one else of his kind is around, he is left misunderstood.
'Why does it make you sad then?'
I realise that last thought must have twisted my expression. Just as I'm about to speak, I'm interrupted by a scream. It's Kara's. A surge goes through my body and I don't know exactly what it is. Fear? Or a protective instinct? Probably a combination of both because I see Kara being dragged off a horse roughly.
