The raven haired women hasn't stopped getting the same nightmare every night for the last 7 days. She doesn't want to burden the blonde anymore so wants her to be unaware of her state. The maid, however, is intuitive and knows exactly what's going on. This night, she tells herself, she is going to watch over Morgana.
Kara's POV
'No Alex, it's not spying. It's looking after her.'
'Oh come on, Kara, I recognise that look. You want more than that.'
Wait a minute. She knows? The night that we cuddled hasn't left my mind but I haven't told her. I feel my face redden so I quickly turn around, pretending to clean up.
'You're in love.' She sings while approaching me from behind and grabbing me by the waist.
'Stop it, Alex! I'm not.' For some reason I don't feel like laughing.
Honestly, these feelings I have for Morgana aren't something to joke about. They make me feel insecure, while I'm actually a very confident person.
'Look, Alex. I've always found it difficult to deal with my magic. Since I have accepted that part about me, I've felt like nothing could stop me anymore, you know? You're right, I do have feelings for Morgana but that's not necessarily a great thing.'
'Why not?'
'How would Uther feel if his daughter had a relationship with a female sorcerer?'
'Okay when you put it like that...'
I sigh and tell her I just don't know what to do. Alex wraps her arms around me.
'You go check up on her tonight and tell her how you feel.' I look up at her, shocked. 'Before you say anything, hear me out, Kara.' I nod, 'You're always the one who says life is too short to not take risks sometimes. It's why you got that champagne and why you use magic sometimes or drink too much at the tavern.' I let out a snort, 'And now you're saying you don't want to try to win over the person you love? That wouldn't make sense, Kara Danvers.'
I smile at her and it does sound logical to just tell her how I feel.
'Right and if she says yes...'
'When she says yes.'
I roll my eyes, 'We'll just see what we're going to do about it.'
'There you go.'
I pull her into another hug before going to the palace to make Morgana's breakfast.
With a tray of food in my hands, I quietly open the door of Morgana's chamber to see that she's still fast asleep. I decide to go looking for a vase to put the flowers in I just plucked for her. I carefully open a little cupboard. I expected there to be pottery or jewelry but I found quite the opposite.
'It was my mother's.' A husky morning voice rings out.
Morgana groans a little as she sits up on her bed. She has dark circles underneath her eyes. I look down at the impressive sword and shield in the cupboard and feel a little like an invader.
'Oh I'm sorry, I was actually just looking for a vase for the flowers I got you.' I say, holding up my right hand to show the purple violets.
Morgana smiles. 'It's okay, they're beautiful. Thank you.'
She gestures where I can get a real vase. I consider asking more about her mother, since she's sparked my interest now. Yeah, why not.
'So, your mother is a fighter?'
Morgana chuckles. 'She sure was, it's the only thing I really remember about her, though. She always told me "Swords help you fight for what's inside" and she had seeing powers, you know.'
