The balance of nature is disturbed by a certain woman. Unnatural sentences escape her mouth, scaring not only the birds, but her companion, Kara, as well. Kara realises the woman is indeed good of heart and likes to think that she is perhaps the one who made her remember. The young women run for their lives and, after a while, find themselves sitting against an old tree, catching their breaths.

Kara's POV

'Morgana! How- what did you do? I mean I thought I was going to escape. You sounded quite serious when you said you wanted to take the throne of Camelot. I simply don't under-'

'Calm down, Kara.' Morgana says while giving my thigh a playful slap, 'I still want to take the throne and I still want Uther dead, but you were right. If I want to rule this kingdom I have to do deserve it and be fair. But it's hard. It's so hard.'

She looks at me, pained. I think she's talking about not giving into the temptation of ending her father's life. I grab the hand that is still on my thigh and freeze for a moment, totally forgetting what I was going to say. My heart is racing just by the idea of her hand on my skin. My fingertips hazily wander off towards her palm and so do my thoughts, being lost by the simple sense of touch.

'I- uh,' Luckily I remember and quickly look at Morgana again, whose mouth is a little open. Still out of breath from our run, I suppose. I feel my face heating up. Focus, Kara. 'I'm here for you, Morgana. I can't imagine how hard it must be, how lonely it must be to be surrounded by someone who wouldn't love your true self. Who is a murderer, a tyrant. That's why I'm here for you, okay? I'm going to help you get through this.'

Morgana is not even smiling. She just looks at me with big eyes and I really want to know where her mind is. Her eyes are like magnets, I feel myself being pulled towards them everytime. She belongs here, in the forest. Her eyes match the green trees perfectly and her raven hair is bold like nature's spirit.

'Thank you.' She whispers, 'By the way, there is another reason why I decided to escape.' She moves a little closer to me without breaking the eye contact. 'I didn't want you to fight the druids but I knew you would if I didn't, you know?' Her thumb is drawing circles on the back of my hand, making my heart pump angrily in my chest. 'W-why didn't you want me to?' I know the answer just by looking at her eyes. They look so soft. 'I couldn't risk you getting hurt.'

Her voice is so different from weeks ago, when she still yelled at me. A whole new pitch I thought only to be present in music. So gentle and soothing. And for once, I don't know what to say, so I just smile. Was this it? Was this the conversation and are we going back? I desperately want to break away from her gaze because it makes my heart pump at a lethal rate. And Alex wouldn't want me dead. Oh, that just gave me an idea.

'Let's go shall we? I need to get back to Alex, she must be worried sick.' Nodding, Morgana gets up and we continue our walk in a somewhat awkward silence.

I let out a little snort, remembering what Alex said when I first had to work for Morgana. "You don't need to worry things will get awkward, because you never shut your mouth", something like that. And look at me now, more awkward than when I had ropes around me. Ah, perfect, I know what to ask.

'Hey, are you okay by the way? Your nose, is it okay?' There's some dried blood underneath her nostrils and her nose is a little swollen.

'It's fine.' She says, but very unconvincingly, making me raise an eyebrow at her. 'All right, it hurts like hell.'

'Well, my sister is a physician, so you could just come to my house so she can treat your nose!'

'Thanks, Kara. How is your-' She thinks, but I'm not hurt anywhere. I got slapped but that pain is long gone. 'everything? How is you?'
