RED VELVET TURNS INTO BLACK MESS
It was burnt. So burnt. You don't know, but it was literally pure coal. And like any normal girl, I too get mom lectures. I'll tell you the whole story. So I saw this really cool video of a person baking an amazing red velvet cake and I had the immediate desire to make it(and eat it). It looked easy. Just mix all the dry and wet ingredients in no particular order in two separate bowls, then mix everything together and put it in the oven. So then I got all the ingredients and set to mix. Mixing itself turned out to be a disaster. The blender went crazy and splashed the mix all over me and Kayla. Poor lady, she was just passing by. Somehow I put it in the oven and waited for Only A Few Minutes. But what happened? it transformed into charcoal. It was supposed to be red and it turned out like so black. I waited for the exact same time they did in the video. I don't know why this happens every single time, and this is nearly my 124th time? Either they turn out unbaked or baked on the outside or burnt on the outside and unbaked on the inside. Not once have they turned out perfectly. I had no choice but to throw that cake-turned-coal away(Hey maybe I could try and generate electricity from it!) But still I'm hopeless. I paid my last respects to the poor red velvet-supposed-to-be-cake. RIP. Oh, so sad. Oh wait then I got a big lecture about wasting food from mom.
To console myself, I sat down on the couch with the newspaper. I turned to page 2 and there was a bright poster that covered the entire page- "Dreaming big of becoming a chef? Want to become the next junior Gordon Ramsay? Then this is the right place for you, budding chefs! Season 2 of Pinch of Yum, coming soon! For registration or more info., visit the official website. 1 month left for registration. Hurry up, little chefs!"
And Bam, I was so thrilled that I didn't even have time to think properly. I ran as fast I could to the nearest room which was 100 metres away, reached the computer, and looked up the website. It was perfect! At least the age and stuff. I only had to work more on the cooking part(man I have to improve A LOT). But I had the spirit and the full interest to cook. I am sometimes even good if I concentrate well enough. Its my dream to become a chef one day. Being a star's daughter, people expect me to become one someday. I don't want to continue the legacy. Its not like I have to because my dad's one. Hey, I don't even watch my dad's movies. I wanna be something special. Like something really unique and exotic.
I was going to enter Pinch of Yum. To prove that I'm not just a random celeb's girl who is going to be pampered forever.
The wannabe Chef,
Melody Mington.
