I wake up to a rainy dark purple and black sky. "Wonderful," I mumbled sarcastically. I quickly look at my alarm clock on my dresser. It's 5 o'clock in the bloody morning! Welp, I won't be able to go back to sleep now. So I'll just throw on my collared shirt, black pair of pants, my tie, and my cloak. I think I'll put some makeup on, hmm actually it's raining outside I can't do that. But I can put on some concealer. Op I forgot my earrings. There was a knock at my door. "Come In!" a tired-looking Luna walked into the room, "good morning, why are you up so early?" she asked. "Well I couldn't sleep so I decided to get an early start on my day," I told her. "Well I'm going back to back so the Nargles will get me," she said carelessly. "Um ok," I said as she walked out my door. Books? Check. Quills? Check. Parchment? Check. Ok, let's go. Wait! I forgot my wand! Yikes, that would have been bad! Ok, now I can go downstairs for my first breakfast...wait what time does that start again? Oh yeah, umm the great hall will open for first breakfast at 5:35 am, great I have 15minutes to get downstairs.
I walked out my door and into the common room and it was deserted, not one person had gotten up yet. So I quickly made my way out the door and down the staircase which moves a lot by the way so I was stopped a couple of times. When I finally reached the great hall it was deprived of any students except me and my books. As I sat down at my house's table I heard a loud pop and glimmering plates of gold and silver were filled to their bursting point with breakfast foods. When I finished breakfast at 6:30 people started shuffling in. Looking groggy and messy-haired walked in Harry, I waved him down, "Oh hey guess who was talking about you all night?" he whispered...."Who?" I asked. "George," "Nah you're Joking," I said chuckling. "No, I'm serious! Stop laughing!" Harry whispered. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Melanie walked in through the great doors. Her hair was flying, her cheeks were flushed, and she was wearing a look of cold fury. "Did you hear?! I just got told off because I yelled at a first-year for sassing me off! A First-Year!" She said Hot-headedly. "Mel Breath! Your foaming at the mouth! It was a first-year let it go." I spoke soothingly. Melanie's poster relaxed a bit. "See you in Divination," Melanie called dully. "See you in Divination." When I finished breakfast I packed up my bag and headed out through big doors and started up the stairs to the Divination in the East wing.
The divination classroom was basically a circler attic with fluffy armchairs. Wow, there were a lot of teacups. No not a lot of teacups. It had piles and piles of teacups. "Hello class, I'm glad to see that everyone made it back to me safe and sound." said a voice behind the curtains echoed. Mel and I gave each other looks of amusement. "As a woman with a huge glass stepped out. "I'm professor Trewlany and I will be teaching you Divination this year." She spoke shakily. I can already tell I would hate this class. So for an hour and a half, I sat through the basics of Divination. After the class ended I went to Charms, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Herbology, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and last but not least Potions. Melanie and I had that class together and let me tell you it was way worse than Divination.
As Mel and I bent over our cauldron I realized something. "hey Mel?" "Yeah?" "Is our potion supposed to be-" a cold voice broke the airy silence. "Green?! Haven't you read the directions or are you just blind like your stupid father?!" said the voice. I spun to see. Ahh yes. The long-nosed greasy git, Professor Severus Snape. " Well I clearly am or your ugliness would offend me..." I said cooly. There were gasps of shock at my words. I could hear Melanie shift slightly. My brother suppresses a laugh. " 35 points from Ravenclaw." Snape sneered turning on his heel. "-and now what, going to go sulk in that greasy mop of hair?" I spoke fiercely. I'm not a pushover and I will not be picked on by a teacher who should know better. "Detention...Ms. Potter, You'll be writing lines with professor Bins on the definition of respect-" but at that moment Melanie stood up abruptly. "You know, what I suppose your right, Nina. He is a greasy git. We'll leave on our own. I wouldn't want to be taught by a teacher who will try to school his students on respect when he can't even show some himself." she retorted. " Detention for the Both of you!! NoW Get. Out. Of. My. " Melanie handed me my bag and we walked out of the room slamming the door.
