"Lorcan, I don't think this is a very good idea." Lilac said as she followed her brother out the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room.

Lorcan didn't look back at her as he responded "You're a coward, Lilac."

Lilac straightened up "I'm not a coward! I'm reasonable!"

Lorcan laughed and grabbed her hand "Come on, Lilac!"

He dragged her along behind him. She had run to stay on her feet. Being a beater on the Quidditch team really strengthened him up. The two walked all along the corridors, looking for hidden passages; Lorcan with an excited look on his face.

The two found a hidden room, but got stopped in their tracks when they saw a rustic spinning wheel sitting in the room with nothing else, but a table.

Lorcan suddenly got terrified "Lilac, we better go. I've got a bad feeling about this."

He tried to drag Lilac away, but she pushed him back "It's a just a spinning wheel, Lorcan." she approached it to observe it; almost like when she observed her great grandfather's creatures. Reaching out her hand to feel the wood texture, she felt her body lurch forward and her inside twist in upon each other.

The last thing she heard was Lorcan saying to her was her name. Then, nothing at all.

Hogwarts; the next morning

Lorcan sat in Headmistress McGonagall's office, rubbing his hands together. Suddenly, the door burst open and his parents walked into the room.

Lorcan ran to them "Mum! Dad! I'm sorry! She's gone because I thought it'd be fun to explore the castle last night! She told me it was a bad idea and I didn't listen!"

Lorcan embraced his parents and cried into their robes. His mother ran his hand through his hair "It's okay, Lorcan. As long as we find your sister." She looked down at her son and pulled him into a tighter hug "We will find her."

New York City; 1928

Lilac woke up in the middle of a park. The spinning wheel lay on the ground, broken, next to her. She stood and held onto her arm.

She gasped at her touch "Broken." she said under her breath.

She felt around her pajama's and was glad that she had put her wand in her sleeve. She walked through the park and realized she was in Central Park. But she didn't recognize any of it and every one was wearing clothing she found extremely old fashioned.

People were staring at her, probably thinking it was extremely uncouth to be wearing her pajama's out and about. Lilac continued to walk through the park until she reached the busy streets. She walked out onto the sidewalk and made her way to a little shop. She looked in on the cute pastries displayed in the window.

They were in the shapes of magical creatures. Lilac had heard of this bakery before from her great grandfather. The baker's name was Jacob Kowalski and he had been his best friend. Lilac was snapped out of her thoughts by a voice of a woman.

"Are you lost?" she said.

Lilac turned around. She stumbled awkwardly "Th-that's complicated. What's the date?"

She looked suspiciously at Lilac "June 19th, 1928." she said, as if staring down Lilac's soul.

'1928?! Oh no! I'll be in big trouble if I find my way home!' Lilac let out a gasp and ran away. She turned a corner and pulled out her wand; running her fingers over the ivy carvings "I'm dead! I know it!"
