The Hotel Room

Your parents always told you never to peek into that one room. Whenever you'd walk past it, you were rushed forwards and scolded. Something about that room was dangerous. Forbidden. But that only made your curiosity stronger.

Every day you walked past that hotel room to get to your own. You had heard countless stories from other residents, from murders to ghosts to torturous experiences. You were going to find out for your own.

One evening, your parents were at the restaurant downstairs. Again, you walked past that same room. You had checked the halls; no one was watching. You positioned your eye up to the peephole and gazed around.

It was anticlimactic, to say the least. All you saw was a woman in a white dress lying on a bed across the room. She was quite pretty, maybe in her 30's. You assumed that she was sleeping, so you left and went to bed so you wouldn't disturb her.

Since you knew that it was no harm, you thought that you would check again the next day. Just to make sure that she was only sleeping, and not in any danger or a coma. As usual, you have a look. But it's strange. You see red. Just... red. It's glossy and shiny, as if they put up a poster. She didn't hear you yesterday, did she?

Paranoid, you turn to your best option: The Internet. You looked up the hotel name and the number of the lady's room.  Multiple disturbing articles come up. As you read through the first one, your eyes grow wide and you heart rate rises rapidly.

Only 10 years ago, there was a fire in that hotel room. It was arson. The family that lived there all died, apart from the daughter. She was 20 at the time. Since then, people have looked through the peephole and stared at her. Someone spotted that her eyes were different.

They were a glossy, bright red. Sound familiar?
