Chapter 9

Nandini reached home by 8 and found Navya already dressed up.

"I am sorry. The fitting rehearsal for the models took a bit long and then there was traffic on road. I will be ready in 30 minutes. ",She said and went inside her room.

She came back wearing a plain black tshirt tucked in ankle length ripped denims and sneakers.

"You look good.", Navya said as they got into the car.

" Thanks.",She replied as they drove to Manik's address.

"Wow",Both said in sync as they saw his house from outside.

The security let them in and she drove by parking the car and getting out.

Navya pressed the bell and they waited as Manik opened the door.

"Hey. Come on in. We were waiting for you guys.",Manik said gesturing them inside.

" Thank you. ",They said as they get in.

Nandini forwarded him the bottle of wine she got and Manik thanked, taking it from her.

They met Cabir and Mukti and greeted them sitting beside them.

Manik came back taking a seat and they all got busy in talking.

Nandini made conversation with Cabir as Navya talked with Mukti and Manik.

"So What's the plan for the weekend?",Cabir asked all of them.

"Beach. ",Navya said and Cabir nodded in no.

" Trek",he said and Navya disagree.

"What about you guys?",Navya asked and Nandini watched the four of them discussing and talking.

Manik looked at her and gets confused watching that fake formal smile on her face.

"I know a place. We will go there. Now stop arguing you guys. ",He said and everyone grew quiet.

" Where is it? ",Navya asked him.

"We will see.",Manik said smirking and she nodded pouting.

Cabir wrapped his hand around her.

"Lets start with the dinner. I am hungry. ",Cabir said and they all went and took a seat on the dining table.

" Did you cook? ",Cabir asked as he took a seat beside Navya.

"Well I didn't get much time after work. So the cook made most of it. I just made the soup. ",Manik said and Cabir smiled.

Nandini and Mukti helped in bringing everything to the table.

" Its quite tasty.",Nandini said and he nodded thanking her.

The dinner went on with everyone telling about their day.

After dinner Navya went on to help Manik and Mukti as Nandini sat with Cabir talking to him.

"So excited about the weekend?",Cabir asked her.

"Well I am looking forward to a day without work.",Nandini said and he smiled.

" We will have fun.",he said and she smiled.

" How was your day?",She asked and he went on to tell her about his day.

Manik went inside his room to feed Oscar.

Nandini gets a call and excused herself walking aside. She saw the backyard and walked around talking on the phone.

It was Soniya telling her about the successful launch and the profits and also about how everyone has high expectations for the event.
