Ushijima/Tendou and Ushiten (HCs)

Trigger Warnings: Angst (don't worry there's fluff too)

Here are some headcannons about Ushijima, Tendou and Ushiten I came up with!

Ushijima

• Ushijima was always on the stoic side but he used to smile more and he used to be more expressive when he was younger.

• He started becoming less expressive and more stoic after his parent's divorce because he didn't want to feel much after seeing how much emotions can hurt.

• His eyes squeeze whenever he smiles so he can barely see anything.

• He covers his mouth when he laughs.

• He's been told that he seems insensitive for being blunt so he tried to be less blunt. To his dismay, he failed.

• He secretly loves cute things. Like miniature plushies, soft toys, Tendou, cute animals, plants for example.

• Loves his family a lot, after all he is a family's boy.

• His Grandmother introduced him to plants. After that, it was just a matter of time before he went to the local community garden almost every weekend to tend to the plants he had raised.

• Each plant he raises has a meaning to them. Be it adoration, love, affection or respect, he has got a plant for every emotion.

• At some point of time he was too caught up with volleyball and couldn't tend to one of his more delicate plants and it died. He spent the whole day crying.  (So, of course everyone around him had broken hearts.)

• He loves to draw and paint. He sees art as beneficial for flexibility of his arms and hands and also beneficial for his brain.

• Somehow, his face is rather squishy even if it isn't chubby. So, Whenever he rests his face somewhere his cheek squishes up. Because of this, he avoids resting his face anywhere. He doesn't like his squishy face that much.

Tendou

• He bites the ice cream. The cold doesn't bother him anyway.

• Tried to play the piano once. He succeeded because of his long slender and flexible fingers.

• He got his red hair from his dad and his built and height from his mom. His mom was taller than his dad by 2 inches making her 6 feet tall.

• Loves art too. He likes making pieces of art with slightly sinister messages and elements. For example he made a happy looking doodle but drew in an IT reference into it.

• He has a small dimple on the right side of his smile. Whenever he smiles widely, the small pit adorns his adorable expression.

• People envy him for his natural red hair and model-like proportions.

• He can rock any outfit. Be it tight black leather or loose pastel flannel. He has the bearings of a model, struts like one too.

• If you think he isn't a meme lord, you're wrong. He has supreme knowledge of memes, from vines and dank memes to surreal memes and popular references. He knows them all.

• Due to his getting bullied in school, he didn't love himself much. But as time went by he embraced himself and took pride in what he once considered to be his flaws.

• He's a pretty chilled person. There's almost nothing that can piss him off. He's the chilled out cool sunshine-y friend to everyone.

• It is well known that he can predict the spiker's movements, so, it was also a given that he is very good at predicting people.

• He has a very special talent. He can make Ushijima Wakatoshi smile.

Ushiten

• Tendou helps Ushijima in the care of the plants in the community garden and together, they make sure that none of them die.

• Since they regularly visit that one community garden together, people know them and have collectively sworn that they will protect this precious pair's happiness.

• Tendou can make Ushijima smile and laugh with little or no effort. Happiness just comes more easily to Ushijima when Tendou is around.

• Since Ushijima has a habit of covering his mouth when he laughs or smiles, Tendou always tries to pry away his fingers away. He even scolds Ushijima lovingly because his smile is beautiful and doesn't deserve to be hidden.

• Tendou likes to be large spoon so whenever they cuddle, Tendou always has Ushijima wrapped in his arms as Ushijima rests his head on Tendou's chest.

• Tendou knows of his boyfriend's love of cute things so he regularly buys Ushijima really small and cute soft toys or figurines even though Ushijima chides Tendou for spoiling him.

• Sometimes, Ushijima gets a very innocent expression on his face when he looks at something new and it gets to Tendou every time. Every. Fucking. Time. Ushijima has such a beautiful and sweet aura of innocent wonder that Tendou's heart can't help but do several cartwheels.

• Tendou smiles quite a lot and each time he does, his dimple is visible. That little dimple always caught Ushijima's eyes because it always looked like a jewel on an already beautiful face to him.

• Though it might not look like it at first and he doesn't want to admit it but Ushijima actually likes being babied. Tendou gave him yet another reason to love him because he predicted that Ushijima likes being babied and didn't question it. He went with the flow.

• Apart from volleyball, their favourite bonding time is care for plants and art. Both of them are rather skilled at it and they both like to draw each other.

• They can feel vulnerable with each other without worrying about anything because they trust each other a lot and they adore each other too.

• The Shiratorizawa team shipped them. The people from the community garden shipped them. Their parents shipped them. Furudate-sensei ships them. Everyone ships them.

• Ushijima is the embodiment of innocence and obliviousness whereas Tendou seems to know the meaning of every double sided joke. Ever.

• Tendou loves squishing Ushijima's face. Period. Tendou can and will spend the whole day touching kissing and touching his squishy face softly. Sometimes, Ushijima tells him to stop but well it's Tendou so he never wins. Tendou loves poking his cheeks and tilting his face up by the chin. He also thinks his boyfriend looks absolutely adorable whenever he rests his face on something and his face does it's squishy thing.

• Ushijima accidentally hit Tendou with one of his spikes. Poor boy spent the whole two hours apologising even though Tendou said he wasn't hurt that much because it hit his shoulder. Since Ushijima couldn't listen to him and couldn't stop being guilty, he made Tendou strawberry smoothies for the next 5 days.

• Tendou never understood how some people could call Ushijjma insensitive. He understood why his boyfriend was a bit dumb when it came to understanding expressions but he never saw why he was deemed insensitive because he cared about his team, his family, his associates and everyone else in his surroundings.

• Tendou has had experience dealing with Ushijima's lack of understanding of metaphors and expressions. Stuff like "It's not raining cats and dogs, it's raining water!" Or the undying, "You look as good as a Human." Even, "Why would you spill beans? Beans are amazing sources of nutrition which should not go to waste." So, yes, Tendou finds Ushijima rather funny too.
