Goliath and Angel

Chapter Three

~Four Months Earlier~

As Angel woke up for the night with her uncle on her mind remembering all of the fun times they had together when he wasn't working and how she trusted him but now can not because of fear of being hurt by him again and now fells like a fool. Angel was not going to let that get her down now for as she got dressed then went out to the place where Goliath the others rests during the day. Owen got a phone call from Xanatos in jail "Mr. Xanatos?" "Owen can you see if Angel will talk to me?" "Yes sir one moment" he then went to where he knew Angel would be but the Gargoyles just woke up and Owen waited as they greeted each other then said "Angel" she turned "Yes Owen" "Your uncle would like to speak to you" and held out the phone to her but she sighed then said "I have nothing to say to him so tell him no I don't want to talk to him" Owen was very surprised by this "But he is your Uncle who raised you" Owen thought he had her but then she turned "Yes he raised me but he betrayed my trust just like my mother did and when the first opportunity rose up he betrayed me so no I don't want to talk to him" then she turns back to Goliath "Goliath come with me I want to show you something" Goliath smiled "Alright" so Goliath glided while Angel could actually fly but stayed up with Goliath. The place where Angel was taking him is her happy place where if she needs peace and quite however to get to it you have to trust her with everything in your being "Angel where are you?" "Trust me Goliath" he nodded and they continued until they came to a clearing where Goliath got confused "What are we doing here?" he asked but Angel grabbed his hand and pulled him down next to her "Shhhhhh watch" Angel said and then just stared at the clearing which they didn't need to wait long for they began to hear howling and watched as a pack of white wolves appear in the center of the clearing "wow!" Goliath was shocked but amazed that Angel knew about this place and for her trusting him enough to bring him to this special place of hers "what are they doing?" Goliath asked "This is how wolves mate in the wild and when they mate it's for life" she told him then turned to see him smile and once it was over she took him on a full tour of her happy place and as they got up to leave Goliath grabbed her arm and said "Thank you Angel for trusting and showing me all of this was amazing Thank you" Angel beamed of happiness "You are very welcome and this is my happy place because of the calm and quite and I thought that you could use such a place sometimes if you need to just get away" she sighed a happy sigh "If I can help you in any way please let me know" Goliath smiled and nodded at her then she took to the skies as he climbed a tree and joined her and together they flew off back towards the castle.

~Present Day~

Goliath dreamed of the night she took him to the place where they watched wolves and saw other wonderful creatures in the forest but the dream became a longing and as the sun set and night fell it was time for Goliath and the others to wake up for the night. Angel sat and was waiting for them to wake she began to think about Goliath then she heard "Angel!" she turned to see Elisa and she got so happy for fear that she wouldn't see Elisa but she and Owen walked up to meet Angel and then the Gargoyles woke up "Angel and Elisa what a glorious sight to see us as we awaken" Goliath greeted "Great to you lassys" Hudson said then walked off "Bye Angel, Bye Elisa" said the trio and they took flight as Elisa and Angel both giggled "Well they all seem to be in a hurry" Angel stated "They are excited by what they see on the television and every night they rush to turn it on but welcome to our home, and especially now that Xanatos has been defeated and this castle is truly ours once more" Goliath was trying to make up for everyone's rudeness but could understand their however after what Goliath said to them Angel and Elisa both looked at each other with sad expressions "What's wrong?" "Well Goliath that's what we wanted to talk to you about because you know that my uncle was only convicted of receiving stolen property" Angel told him hoping for him to see where she was going with this "Convicted?" Goliath questioned "It means he was guilty of a certain crime and that's what he went to jail for but he only got a six months sentence and we were lucky that his lawyer didn't that time cut in half look the point is that it's not safe for you guys to stay here" Elisa said "I'm saying that you all need to find a new place to rest during the day in other words a new home Goliath" Elisa straight out told him "No this castle is our home" Goliath said angrily "I'm sorry but it's not Goliath my uncle bought it lock stock and Gargoyle do you understand what I am saying every minute spent here you are all in danger" Angel was now trying to get Goliath to see the danger in staying at the castle now but he wouldn't have it "You two worry to much as long as Xanatos is defeated we are safe here" Goliath said not listening to reason "I think your head stays rock solid even at night" Angel said hoping he heard for they were just trying to help them be safe. Hudson was in the TV room watching TV when the show 'The Pack' came on but on every station which caused Hudson to get a little flustered as the trio walked in "Hey its the show the Pack" Lexington said "Cool" Brooklyn replied and they all gathered around the TV but noticed that Hudson wasn't really happy that the show was on TV "What's wrong Hudson I thought you liked this show" said Brooklyn "Aye but not every night" Hudson replied irritated however there was one Gargoyle that was in love with the idea that there could be others out there that were like them and wanted to get to know 'The Pack' and make them allies. Goliath was by himself thinking about what Elisa and Angel both said 'What if they are right but this is all we have left of our after everything was taken, do I want to give it up because of fear' then another thought came into his head 'Angel is trying to look out for us and she does know her uncle better than us even though she never saw this coming. Angel has the appeal to her she is easy to talk to and listens very well she is even quite stunning...I shouldn't be thinking like that...but I can't help it.' he was walking back to talk to Angel and apologize to her about his anger out burst but she was no where to be found so he began to try and find her. Hudson was watching TV when the show 'The Pack' came on so he tried to change the channel but it was on every single channel then the trio came in "Hey it's The Pack" Lexington stated "Cool" Brooklyn said then they gathered around it then Hudson tried to change the channel again but it was still on every channel "Aye somethings wrong it's on all the channel's again" Hudson said in frustration "I thought you liked The Pack Hudson?" Broadway asked "Aye I do but not every night" Hudson replied then the show announced "See The Pack in person tonight at Madison Square Garden Fox, Wolf, Dingo, Hyena and Jackal" "WOW! They are warriors just like us" Lexington said "Your favorite heroes live and in person at Madison Square Garden" and when Lexington heard that he was so excited for he really looked up to them he also thought it would be a great idea to make them friends. At Pack Media Studios you have the famous Pack getting ready for a live show and their leader Fox got a mysterious envelope with pictures of Goliath in it saying that if they were ever board and needed something new to do then they could hunt something like Goliath and that was on Foxes mind as she was punching the punching bag when a ninja appeared behind her as she turned and he took off his mask "Bye Harvey keep practicing those back flips you hear me" Fox told him while smiling as Wolf came over to grab some weights from the shelf "You know when we took this job we were promised Money, Fame and Action I'm not complaining about the first two but I could a bit more of the third" Wolf said "Sounds like wolf-mans getting board" Jackal mocked "Yeah maybe a new hair cut would help" Hyena mocked as well then Dingo spoke up "Wolf's right with as flabby as I am I wouldn't last six months in a Civil American War" "Birds gotta fly, Fish gotta swim and Wolves gotta hunt" Wolf stated as he threw the weights he was lifting. Fox then turns walks over to a bench and sits down picks up an envelope and says "Alright since all of you are itching for action let me show you what came in today's mail with no return address and no explanation" then takes out the photos of the envelope then puts them on the bench right next to her and as the others gather around to see the photos they are shocked by what they see "Stone Me!" Dingo said "Interesting" Jackal replied "Hey I remember reading something like this in the New York times about people seeing Gargoyles coming to life" Hyena said "And Alligators live in the sewers" Jackal mocked "What does this have to do with us?" Wolf asked "Hey you said that you were looking for some action and now you're complaining about it" Hyena said "Imagine hunting something like this, we will figure it all out later but right now we have an appearance to make.". After the TV show was done back at the castle Brooklyn, Broadway and Lexington went to see 'The Packs' live show but Lex wanted to make them allies so he decided that after the live show that he was going to meet them in person but as they sat there waiting for the show to start his excitement rose "Is it time for the show to start?" Lexington questioned "Relax it will happen" Brooklyn responded as the crowd of children down below were getting just as excited. The live performance went excellent and as everyone was leaving "Well the show is over and I am starving lets go" Broadway said "You coming Lex?" Brooklyn asked "Ahh later you-you guys go ahead" Lex told them then Brooklyn and Broadway flew off as Lex then looked own with determination on his face "I'm going for it". "Where could he be?" Goliath questioned "I'm sure he's fine and he will be back any moment" Angel tried to reinsure Goliath that Lexington was and then Brooklyn spoke up "Maybe he went to the park you know how much Lex loves the park" but deep down they were still worried for Lexington never stayed out by himself and the sun would be coming up soon. After the show the Pack was going back stage "Well another, Another half of a million dollars" Wolf said but Lexington made some extra noise "What was that?" Fox questioned as Lex was moving above them then jumped down in front of them and he saw that they were all shocked to see him "What in the world!" Jackal exclaimed as Dingo pulled out a gun to shoot it "Relax I'm not an enemy" Lexington stated "It talks" Wolf said shocked "My name is Lexington I'm a warrior like you" "Hey Fox this one is not as big as the one in the pictures you sh-" Fox then elbowed him in the side "OOO" "I've heard stories of another one like you only much bigger" Fox said "How did you know about him?" Lex asked "Like I said rumors, news reports I wasn't sure they were true but I hoped they were" "You know we would love to meet your friend" Wolf interjected Lex thought about it a quick second "I think that could be arranged" Lex said "Great you can bring him right back here at Pack Media Studios" then he climbed up the rafters then took off go get Goliath but the Pack just stood there smiling knowing what they really wanted with Goliath. The sun began to rise in the distance and now Goliath was really beginning to worry "Goliath Lexington is fine he just..." Angel was saying but then they heard "There you are" Brooklyn said and Goliath was relived that Lexington was unharmed "Where were you?" he questioned "Guess who I made allies with" they were all shocked to hear Lexington say that "You don't mean 'The Pack'" Brooklyn asked in shock "I sure do they are just like us they defend to innocent" "But Lex..." Brooklyn went to say but was cut off by Goliath "You let them see you?" "Yes I-I-I did and why not you made friends with Angel and Elisa" Lexington stated "That was different" then Angel jumped in "Goliath about my uncle he gets out in a month" "Yes so you keep saying why do you keep concerning yourself with this" "You need to concern yourself with this" "This argument will have to wait lads" Hudson said then Goliath lend in towards Lexington "This isn't over" then they turned to stone Angel then turned to Elisa "Why won't he listen to reason Elisa?" "Because he feels that if he leaves then he will have lost everything" "I didn't think of that but even the other can see that it's too dangerous for all of us to stay here" but Elisa could tell that Angel was sad "Angel something is wrong?" Elisa said knowing Angel all too well "I will leave if they leave but this has been the only home I have ever known and I'm scared to leave" Angel confessed to Elisa they then said their goodbyes so they could get some sleep for the night ahead. It was few hours before sunset when Angel woke up for the night and as she was getting ready a knock came at her door "Just a minute" she yelled as she finished getting dressed then answered her door to find Elisa standing there "Hey Angel I'm glad you're awake" "Elisa is something wrong you're usually not here so early" "Everything is fine I just wanted to see if you join me tomorrow" Angel smiled "I'd love to join you but right now we have to wait for the gargoyles to wake up and we have to keep Goliath and Lexington from fighting" they smiled and laughed as they went to where Goliath slept waiting for him and the others to wake for the night. Goliath for the first time in a long time he dreamed of the possibility of finding true everlasting love where someone could actually love and never hurt him nor betray him but the one who comes to mind is Angel he just feels like she truly understands him and as the sun got lower and lower in the sky the more he could feel himself coming awake which meant the more he was coming out of the dream that he got so lost in that he almost believed it to be real. As Goliath and the other woke up and Lexington started the argument right where they had left off "You beat it isn't, Why are Elisa and Angel different? These guys are defenders of the realm just like she is" "He might be right Goliath I have seen them on the picture box they are constantly attacked by these evil ninjas" Hudson interjected "Maybe we could help them" Broadway said then Lex spoke up "Look it's not like reviled all our secrets to them I'm not stupid they don't know we turn to stone during the day they don't even know where we live look can you please meet them before you judge them" Lex said "Yeah I think if anyone would understand us they would" Brooklyn said "We can't hide from the whole world up here, there are kindred spirits out there for us but we've gotta look for them and give them a chance or else we'll always be alone" Lex said just what Goliath needed to hear so Goliath sighed then Angel spoke up "Lex as true as that is, television is just that it's not real" "Then why would they show it on TV?" Brooklyn asked "Because it's entertainment something fun for everyone to watch" Angel replied "Alright I'll meet with them but the rest of you stay here, Angel you come with me and Lexington" Angel sighed "You could at least say please" but opened her wings and jumped ready to get this over with 'I love how Angel is independent and not willing to take orders from anyone except from me' Goliath smiled then Lexington and Goliath joined Angel in the sky. Soon after they took to the air they made it to the studio but when they got inside it was quite and still "They said they'd be here" Lex said "I don't like this" Goliath nodded in agreement Angel sighed suddenly a spot light was put on them then a small smoke bomb was thrown at them "It's a trap!" Goliath exclaimed then they ran into the small area when out of no where Hyena jumped out and attacked then ran off which upset Lexington so he got up and ran after her "Lexington!" both Angel and Goliath yelled after him but he was so angry that he wasn't thinking straight and almost caused him to fall right into a trap where spikes came out of the wall and if Goliath hadn't caught him then Lex would have been seriously hurt "Cowards I Thought You Fought With Honor!" Lexington said in anger then they got through but then when they ran down then turned left a metal door shut behind them and in front of them "Welcome to the gauntlet Usually our traps in here are harmless but we juiced them up a little just for you" Fox said from above them as the doors were closing in on them and as they tried to stop the doors from moving Goliath took and rared back then punched his fist right through the metal then took the engine that made it move and pulled it up from the floor then threw it at the wall which made a huge hole so they jumped through it so when Goliath looked up he saw their way out through the roof "The roof hurry" so they climbed to wall on to the roof then took off in the night. However they didn't realize that the Pack was right behind them and when they landed on a roof top to catch their breath "I can't believe they attacked us" Lex said in disbelieve "Yes I believe they planed to do so from the moment they meet you Lex" Angel said "But why we aren't their enemies they are no worse than animals" Lex stated "Worse than that animals hunt because it's hungry they however do it for sport" Goliath told him "I'm never trusting anyone again" Lex said and it reminded Angel of herself but then she heard this swooshing sound when this boomerang thing hit the wall and exploded "Lexington!" both Angel and Goliath yelled as they went towards him Dingo was on the ledge behind them getting ready to throw a rope with a heavy weight on the end but when he threw it missed Goliath but wrapped around Angel instead however she broke through it with ease then Goliath grabbed Lexington "I'm alright" then the three of them jumped off the roof and glided off to escape the Pack but Jackal took one of his throwing knifes and threw it at a couple of power lines which Goliath and Lexington glided right into "AHHHHHHH!" then they both fell out of the sky as Goliath grabbed Lex's arm and he caught stooped their falling by grabbing onto one of the fire escape exits and climbing their way back up to the roof however Hyena laugh could be heard then suddenly an explosion which had all three falling to the ground with a pile of rubble as the Pack closed in they heard "Hey look it's the pack" said the little boy who was with his sister and parents as they saw their favorite TV super heroes and ran up to them with excitement but to the Pack their time was being wasted by their fans "Cool" "Can we have your autograph?" "How do you do those stunts?" the boy and girl were asking questions "Wonderful our adoring public" Fox said sarcastically "Perfect timing" Hyena said as Lexington, Goliath and Angel began to come to the asked "What are those things?" "Sussie, Billy come away from there" their mother was worried "Yeah they're shooting a movie or something and you'll get in the way" their father said "Get back these are evil monsters sent by the evil ninjas" Wolf said as he picked up the children and carried them back to their mother and father "We'll protect you" Wolf said like if it was part of the show then attacked them but Angel also knew how to play it cool as well so she began to act "Yes the evil ninja's sent us what are you gonna do about it" then winked at the kids letting them know that it was all pretend but even though the children now knew that it was pretend they still wanted to protect their heroes so they began throwing trash at the gargoyles "Leave the pack alone" Angel smiled but Lex turned and said "QUIT IT!" which scared the children and Angel still trying to keep up the acting ran up to them and said "I'm sorry but we have to stay in character you know" Angel whispered into their fathers ear "Yeah we know it's alright" the father said then they all walked off then Angel turned back to help Goliath and Lexington "Hurry while the streets are deserted finish them quickly" Fox ordered but as Jackal and Hyena were running towards them Goliath tore one side of the fire hydrant which let out a powerful gust of water that also knocked them back then Goliath, Lex and Angel stood there then Lex said "This hurry" so they followed Lexington up a fire escape "Take them down" Fox demanded and so Dingo threw an exploding device at them but it missed and the three were still climbing up to safety and when they reached the very top "We have to stay in the shadows it's our biggest advantage against them" Angel stated then the Pack used their graveling hooks to scale the wall in order to reach the roof. When the pack reached the roof "Ugh it's a needle in a hay stack" Fox said as they went in amongst the gargoyle statues but they ran right past them and didn't even know it "Where's Hyena?" Jackal asked for she was right there then she wasn't then one of her gloves fell from above them they turned their back to one another "Stay together" Fox said but Dingo walked away slowly and even though he had a gun Lexington took him out with ease which scared Jackal "I'm out of here" "No! We can take them" Wolf said to Jackal "Forget it this wasn't in my contract" then tried to leave "JACKAL NO!" Fox hollered but as soon as he turned to corner Angel took out Jackal and Fox and Wolf watched it happen then they both took off running then Goliath crashed through a wall stooping them in their tracks and fall on their butts then Goliath then picked both of them up by the collar of their outfits and put them against the wall until it caved in and all three of them fell through which put them in the middle of a photo shoot which scared the women and as one of them tried to run Fox grabbed her and held a gun to her saying "Relax and you'll live through this" which made the woman even more scared the as Goliath and Wolf were getting up but they walked backwards with the hostage but Lex and Angel came out of no where and knocked Fox and Wolf out just like they did the other Pack members then they heard police sirens "The police are coming" Lexington said "Then we will leave our foes to them, come we don't have much time" Goliath said so they all climbed up the side of the building to the roof then took off into the night back to the castle. Back at the castle Lexington was sitting there with Angel and Goliath as he said "I feel like a fool letting the Pack talk me into luring you there" "Because of who we are we have to cautious about trusting strangers" Goliath said "I was so totally wrong" "No Lexington you were right we can't hide from the world we must live in it we must search for allies kindered spirits and some times we have to take chances like we did tonight to do other wise is to be forever alone" Goliath told him "It's nice to know that there are heroes left" Lexington said in a happy voice Angel smiled then Goliath turned to her "How were you able to convince the on lookers that we were acting" "Because it's easier to believe that it's not real then to believe it is real so I acted" Angel said Goliath smiled "It was quick thinking" Goliath smiled at her and she smiled back at him then Brooklyn and Broadway landed right beside Goliath and Angel "We just watched the news" Broadway said "The Packs been arrested they have photographs of Fox holding a woman hostage" Brooklyn said as Hudson walked up behind them "I thought they were the good guys maybe we should believe everything we see on television" Hudson stated then they all go tin their places as the sun rose they all turned to stone for a good days rest mean while in prison "Everything was done as you stipulated sir the cable TV was adjusted so that the program they could only see was The Pack's, The pack received the mysterious envelope with photograph's and acted just as you predicted a pity nothing else went according to plain" Owen said "Oh, I wouldn't say that Owen even though they didn't know it was me I created the Pack to be more than just a TV show I had to see how good they were and have underestimated Goliath once before I needed to know what he was capable as well all in all I'd say the test was most informative" Xanatos said "How is Angel doing Owen?" he asked "She is doing well sir she hangs with Goliath and the others all the time" Owen told him "I want you to see if you can get one of the gargoyle's to get Angel to talk to me I miss my niece I love her like she is my own daughter but I should have expected this when I did what I did" Xanatos hung his head in shame for now he feels like she was the only one who truly loved him and he betrayed her but now he needs to focus on the gargoyle's for now he feels as though they turned her against him however he just want to think that it was his own doing that caused Angel to hate him so much. As Angel got ready for bed she was thinking 'I hope my Uncle doesn't send any more people here to destroy my friends' then she went right into a deep sleep dreaming of when she was little and loved.
