Chapter 18

When Debby came out of the bathroom fully dressed in formal wear, she already had up to three missed call, all from the same person, her secretary.

“Your phone has been ringing nonstop disturbing us.” Jason glared at Debby, she rolled her eyes in response.

“I know, they want to get me over to the office. Someone is insisting on seeing me without an appointment.” She sighed. Cathy walked into the room looking darker than when she walked out and eyes were a bit puffy, hard to notice.

“I have contacted her and I texted your number to her. You should be receiving a call from her.” She paused, the information sunk into Genevieve. “However, if you want her number.” She handed her phone out to Genevieve. “There is no passcode, her number is saved as ‘mother’.”

Genevieve nodded, Cathy turned around to go use her laptop on her bed.

“Debby, let me go with you!” Ashton exclaimed with the intent to gather the attention that was on Cathy and reduce the tension of the air.

“I cannot. Arthis and Belgia are not involved with each other, if we’re seen together, it will raise suspicions.” Debby refused. However, Ashton didn’t give up. He begged and begged until Debby surrendered. Mostly due to the fact that she had to worry about the time, she wanted to get back early.

She phoned Leon and asked him to pick her up from the terminal with a seriously tinted car.

Five minutes after Debby left her room, Jacob busted in panting and looked around the room. Genevieve was relaxed on Jason’s shoulders both watching a movie on her laptop sitting on her bed.

He then turned to Cathy who was playing the Sims 4 on her laptop gazing at her. He wanted to apologize to her for Bella and he wanted to do it quick because his class starts in ten minutes. He got a little carried away with Bella.

“If you want to talk, just talk. If not, get out.” Cathy said, not raising her head up nor breaking her concentration from the game. Jacob was shocked at Cathy’s words. She sounded really annoyed. He turned to Genevieve but Genevieve appeared as shocked as he is.

“I am pretty sure you aren’t deaf, neither are you dumb.” Cathy stated. Jacob walked to Cathy’s line of sight.

“What are you doing here?” Cathy asked. Jacob tried to calm himself. Cathy is really unapproachable right now. He thought she was that upset with him. Jacob however didn’t know how wrong he was.

“I am sorry I ditched you for Bella.” He apologized. Cathy frowned hearing him.

“Why do you think you ditched me? I left you and her to catch up. That wasn’t my business.” She paused her game and then turned to face him fully. She was upset he came to bother her, one of her sims just got pregnant and she wants to continue her game.

“The world doesn’t revolve around you.” She glared at him and continued her game.

“If I remember correctly, you have a class by 3 and the lecturer is strict. You don’t want to be late, do you?” Jacob sighed and walked out of the room to head to class.

On the way to Arthis: In the car:

Debby and Ashton were quiet in the car, Ashton leaned his head against the headrest, he was quite tired from the lack of sleep he has been having for a while now, his breathing was quite heavy and it resulted in light snores.

Debby is gravely sensitive to snores, it’s the reason she can’t sleep with her sisters on the same bed except she’s completely exhausted like on her coronation day when they shared the bed with her. Hearing Ashtons’ snores caused her to glance at him. His eyes were closed and she noticed the eye bags so she thought he was asleep.
