So hello! Thank you for reading my story! So to start off I need to explain this AU. In this AU (alternative universe for the confused kiddies) Seán was born with no hearing in his left ear. To correct this he has a hearing aid. As a boy in high school surrounded by a bunch of men full of testosterone, he gets picked on. Not only for having a hearing aid, but for also being pale and skinny. Mark never joined in on this. He always thought there was nothing wrong with Seán. In all actuallity he thought Seán was perfect. He loved Seán.

Okay now (finally) into the story! <3

Seán's pov

I wake up to my watch buzzing on my wrist. I take it off and place it on my nightstand. I walk over to my dresser and put on my hearing aid. This is bullshit. I'm 17 and still use this think. Why can't they come up with something else! Something that makes people not make fun of me. I walk down the stairs to see my sister and her boyfriend at the breakfast table. I go up to my sister and hug her but her boyfriend pushes me away. "I'm her only boyfriend."  "I'm her only brother!" I hug Abbi again and he "lets" me this time. She's my sister. I've known her since she existed you've only known her for 2 months. I kiss mom and grab my plate. It must be so hard for mom, being single, and having a kid with a hearing impediment. Life must be shit. I love mom so much. She is the only person who can hug me and it doesn't feel fake. I clean off my plate and put it in the dishwasher. "Abbi school time!"  "SEÁN YOUR JUST JEALOUS YOU AREN'T DATING ANYONE! GIVE ME TIME WITH ALEN OR I SWE-"  "OKAY! OKAY!" I turn down my aid and run upstairs to get my things. Watch, backpack, water bottle, books, library card, done. I go downstairs and  out the door. "BYE MOM! LOVE YOU!"  "LOVE YOU TOO SEÁN" Down the steet and to the bus stop I turn off my aid, it's the best way to tune people out, I physically can't hear them. I sit and wait for the bus, with silent snickers around me.
