Monday comes quickly as the yearbook class was able to quickly put the yearbook due to the help over the weekend. It was that morning as Jotaro and Y/n arrived early. Since Jotaro was a transfer student, he wasn't given a locker so he usually put his books inside Y/n's.
This day wasn't different as they navigated their way through the halls, passing chatting students. It was quiet that morning as they arrived to Y/n's locker, Eli and Camille weren't in sight as she opened it.
She put away some materials and turned to Jotaro as he handed her just a book. She put it inside as she closed it, taking a look at the clock on the wall. "Since we're more than an hour early for class, do you want to go grab some breakfast at the coffee shop down the street?" she asked.
Jotaro's eyes peaked in interest. "Sure." he replied. They exited the school and made their way to the parking lot as they got inside Y/n's car once more. The drive was short and quick as they entered the small coffee shop.
Jazz music was playing lowly as the small of freshly brewed coffee was all throughout the shop. Y/n raised her hand and pointed to the menu that was displayed above the cashiers. She explained the different types of coffees and teas that the shop offered.
Having felt confident in what he wanted, he told Y/n as she smiled at his response before they both went over to the cashier. "How may I help you?" the cashier asked.
"Can I get a hot chocolate and a caffé mocha?" she asked.
He charged her as Jotaro went to take out his wallet to pay for his drink. Y/n put her hand on his to signify that it was on her as he looked down towards her. The cashier accepted her money and returned her change as she took it before leading Jotaro to a nearby table where they sat down.
It was quiet between them before Y/n spoke up, "Are you getting used to our small town yet?" she asked.
Jotaro shrugged a bit. "It's quiet at least." he says.
Y/n smiles at him. "Yeah, nothing big ever happens here." she responds.
It was silent once more between them as the soft jazz music continued to ring throughout the store. Sitting across from her, Jotaro felt somewhat at ease. Sure, the situation he was in wasn't ideal but at least he had Y/n sitting across from him.
The barista's voice broke him from his thoughts as he called out their drinks, Y/n getting up and walking over to grab the drinks as Jotaro stood up as well. She walked back with their drinks as she handed him his before they made their way outside of the coffee shop.
They got in the car as Y/n sipped on her hot chocolate, turning to the boy beside her. "How's your coffee?" she asked.
Jotaro turned to her. "It's good." he replied. Y/n gave him a smile as she placed her drink in her cup holder before turning on her car engine and started to drive the short distance back to their school.
Having arrived back to the school and making their way back to Y/n's locker, they spot Camille waiting for them. She turns to them and smiles. "Hey guys! I see you went to go get some coffee." she pointed out.
"I just got hot chocolate but Jotaro says he likes his coffee." Y/n smiles.
"Who wouldn't like a cup of hot coffee?" Camille asked.
