I literally know that I haven't updated in close to like three months and I'm super sorry. I've been going through stuff and mostly been busy with school but I really do hope you enjoy the chapter! Thank you for the support! Messages and comments are very much appreciated!

May 2, 1989Y/n was unable to sleep for the rest of the night. Just the thought of someone coming in to her room sent straight shivers down her back. And she was absolutely terrified when she thought about the other man who saved her. He just vanished right in front of her eyes.
For the most part, she wanted to believe that it was all a dream. That it was nothing but sleep paralysis. But the hands that were wrapped around her neck felt so real that there was no denying it.
When the sun began to shine brightly in her room, Y/n looked towards her window as she sighed. She heard a slight knock at her door as her father opened it. He peeked his head inside as he saw how tired his daughter looked.
"Y/n. What're you doing up?" he asked.
"I couldn't sleep." she said as she pulled the covers over herself.
She heard her father audibly sigh as he walked over and sat on the edge of her bed. "Do you want to go to school today?" he asked.
"No." Y/n said from beneath her sheets. Marco nodded as he got up and walked towards her door.
"Make sure to get some rest today, okay?" he said before closing her bedroom door.
Y/n sighed as she closed her eyes, wanting to at least get some sort of sleep for the day. Beyond her bedroom door, Marco looked at his watch before walking towards his shared bedroom where his wife Isabel was combing her hair gently at her vanity.
He watched his wife as she put away her brush. "Y/n's staying home from school today." he spoke.
His wife turned to him. "Why? What's wrong?" she asked.
"She didn't sleep. I think she's shaken up from what happened." he said.
"Of course she is, we basically called her delusional after someone attacked her." She replied.
"I'm going to have some agents from the Speedwagon Foundation guard the house for a while so that nothing else happens." Marco said as he made his way over to his closet as he pulled out his long trench coat.
Isabel stood up from her vanity seat as she turned to her husband once more. "Marco, there's a chance that we're getting our daughter back. I mean for the first time since she appeared, she was able to use her powers." she spoke.
"She didn't use them at will. Mystic appeared because she was in danger." Marco argued back.
"Which means she still has her powers. Marco please listen and understand that our daughter isn't gone. We've been given a second chance for whatever reason." Isabel approached her husband as she brought her hands up to his face, caressing him.
Marco slightly eased into her touch. He sighed as he placed a hand on his wife's before removing her hands and holding them within his palms. "You're right. I'll tell Joseph about what happened." he spoke before walking over to his dresser and retrieving his hat, giving his wife a final kiss before telling her he was off to visit Joseph.
