They piled up a few drachma, and Percy thought about his mom and Tyson. He wanted to speak to them the most. He also needed to talk to Paul. And he needed to contact a few of the gods and goddesses. He quickly used the sink to make mist.
"Hey, Thalia, you should probably IM the Hunters. They will be happy to see you!" Hazel suggested. Thalia's eyes brightened a little, but she regained her composure.
"Sure," she said. Percy grabbed a drachma, and Nico held his hand with a reassuring smile.
Percy took a deep breath, "Oh Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering."
The most shimmered into his mother and Paul sitting at the table, with a six year-old Estelle gobbling her pancakes. Percy realized with a heartbreak that they were blue, like his mom had once made for him. His voice cracked as he spoke.
"M-mom? Is that you?" He said, a tear falling down his cheek, which Nico wiped off.
His mom looked up, startled. Paul stopped mid bite and dropped his spoon, mouth wide open and eyes wide as saucers. He pointed behind Sally, and his eyes started to water, even Estelle calmed down and cried uncontrollably.
"Momma! It's Percy!" She wailed, pointing a small finger. His mom turned around quickly in her chair, sobbing as the ran to the image.
"P-Percy? I-is that you?" She whispered.
"Yeah mom, it's really me," Percy whispered, leaning as far as he could go without ruining the connection.
His mom started crying and sank to the floor. Percy got sympathetic looks from Leo, Hazel, Frank, Piper, Thalia, and Nico.
"Percy, what happened? You stopped messaging five years ago, I-I thought you were dead! We had a funeral! And here you are! Very much alive! Why didn't you call me?" She started yelling, getting to that stage in the sadness cycle.
"Mom, listen to me, okay? You have to promise you won't storm Olympus," Percy said, thinking about how he should say what he was going to say. Sally looked confused, but nodded.
"Me, Nico, and Thalia were banished to Tartarus, because we were too powerful," Percy squeaked. His mom's face went from confused, to realization, to pure, boiling hatred.
"Those freaking gods! Always thinking they're better than people-" Percy cut he off.
"MOM. You promised. Please calm down. I'm fine," he said. Sally calmed down a bit, but she was obviously still angry.
"How are Nico and Thalia? And Hazel and Jason?" She asked. I sighed.
"We're all good, but Hazel and Jason weren't banished. I guess the gods didn't think they were super powerful, which is so wrong," Percy said, and he shot Hazel a quick glance. She was blushing. Jason just looked mad. Sally looked confused.
"Oh. Okay. Come visit soon, we have a lot to catch up on!" His mom said cheerily. Before she could severe the connection, Percy yelled out.
"WAIT! I can't come over at an exact date. The gods only brought us back because we are part of a quest," he said quickly. Again, Sally was outraged. She started ranting about those no-good, greedy, haughty gods, along with a few other things that should not and will not be repeated.
"Okay... IM me as soon as you finish the quest. And I mean the second you finish that quest. Then we'll talk," She said. Percy nodded. They said their goodbyes, and Percy stopped the mist. Thalia was calling up the Hunters, so Percy gave her a little mist as he threw in another coin. When the mist shimmered, it showed a burly cyclops boy sitting with a small red harpy trying to comfort him. He looked sad.
"Tyson!" Percy yelled, scaring the poor cyclops and harpy.
"BROTHER!!!" Tyson yelled. He tried to hug the mist, and severed the connection. Hazel gave Percy another drachma, and he called again. Tyson had started crying.
"Awh, Tyson, buddy, don't cry. I'm okay, see?" Percy gestured to himself when the cyclops looked up.
"Are you really okay?" Tyson asked. Percy nodded, and Tyson smiled giddily.
"Call me again later! I will start on my way to camp, and we can eat peanut butter and see the sea horsies," he jumped up and down, and Ella started muttering book excerpts and smiling happily.
"Tyson, you can't come yet. I have to go in a quest. I'll call you later though, and I'll tell you when the quest is over," Percy said. Tyson looked a little down, but he nodded. They said goodbye, and the connection severed. Thalia was just finishing up with the hunters, so Percy held the water a little longer. When Thalia and the Hunters parted, Percy made the water snake back into the sink. Then, he turned to the group, his face stone cold.
"So, as you know, we are all part of another prophecy. One where we have to defeat the evil. Well, obviously we can't do that in the state are in. So, I have planned a group exercise for us. All of us will make pairs, spending time with that person for two days, even sleeping in the same room. Not in the same bed though," he added when he got 'the look' from the majority of people, "No leaving each other's side. And, when the two days end, we will share what all we did and pick a new partner, until everybody has been with everybody," he said.
Everyone looked at each other, trying to decide the best answer was. Leo was the first to speak up.
"I'm okay with that!" He said.
"Me, too," Hazel said.
Everyone else agreed except Will, and Jason was very reluctant, but majority ruled. Percy smiled deviously. He pulled out a piece of paper from a desk drawer, and wrote everyone's names on a piece and folded them, putting them in a shoebox under his bed.
"Alright! Let's get started!"
