Alana's POV:

I listened to Evan and Jared talk about something in the men's bathroom. I was around the corner, trying to listen to them through the thick brick walls.

"We need more emails Jared!" Evan whisper yelled at the other boy. What does he mean? Ohh maybe Evan just can't find the emails, so he needs Jared's help to find them. That makes sense, Jared is pretty good with technology.

"I CAN'T KEEP MAKING THESE OK?! THIS IS WRONG. FINE. I GET IT. YOU NEED TO HELP THE MURPHY'S. BUT THIS IS BAD, EVEN FOR ME!" Jared screamed back. I heard someone take a step on the cheap, plastic tile. What is happening?!

I know that it's probably not allowed for me to go into the men's restroom, but... "A-Alana?!" Evan asked, his voice low and timid. Jared had tears running down his face and both of the boys looked extremely hurt.

"This is the guy's- Wait, are you trans?-" Evan said a bit louder. I shook my head. "No, I'm not. I just heard yelling and I was like 'Oh, those are my friends, maybe I should see what's up.' so I walked in and saw this." I explained.

"Yeah we were just having a friendly argument about who is going to play Kirby in Mario Kart tonight. So you can go now! Bye!" Jared gave Evan a glare as he said this and Evan nodded quickly. Jared pushed me out of the bathroom, making me stumble backwards into the hall.

I heard the bell ring loudly, the sound blaring through my ear drums, making a lot of kids groan and run to class, clearing the hallways. I sprinted to gym class, my first period.

I got there, and Mr. B was standing in the doorway. "Alana? Out of all people to be late... Is everything ok?" He spoke in a soft tone and put his hand on my shoulder, walking me into the gymnasium.

"Yeah. I'm doing great! How are you, Sir?" I said putting on a fake smile. "I'm doing alright." He said with a shrug, taking his hand off my shoulder and walking towards the large white board that had our whole year planned out, sorted by sport.

I loved it. It was just so organised and neat that I couldn't help but think it was amazing. I got a notification on my fitbit, saying that Evan had texted me.

Evan's POV:

I texted Alana, saying "Hey Lana, do you want to hang out after school?" Jared had come up with the plan. No one can know. And once Alana knows, the whole school knows.

We needed to get rid of her. It's risky, but her knowing about the emails is even more risky.

Probably a knife to the chest, but I don't know yet. Jared said that a small dagger would work, but I doubt it. We already planned out where we were gonna hide the body. In the old forest near the school.

"So are we skipping class? Because we're 10 minutes late-" Jared interrupted my thoughts. "I- Well I've never skipped before and I don't want to get in troubl-" "Wow. You're planning to kill someone and you can't even do something as simple as skipping class?" Jared cut me off, speaking much too loudly.

"Shhhh" I put a finger over his lips. He pulled my hand away and shoved it towards me, making me stumble back a bit. "Are you trying to get us caught?!" I whisper yelled. He chuckled. "Do you think this is funny?!" I said a bit louder.

He buried his face in his hands to prevent from breaking out in laughter. He wiped a fake tear away, still laughing. "You're such a wimp Hansen-" He rolled his eyes as he was cut off by his own snickering.

I slapped him lightly on the shoulder, crossing my arms. The laughter died down. "Why are we still in here?" I said as I looked around the bathroom. "Well unless you prefer going outside of the school, this is our best bet if we don't wanna get caught skipping."
