Chapter 17: This Is Just the Beginning

Once they were safe, they exhaled and relax in their spot. "Finally," Jacob mutters as he leans back against the wall, Sherry looks at him and smiles. Then Claire ran up to them and looks down at Sherry, kneeling in front of her. "So what's the first thing you wanna do when we get out of here?" Claire asks her.

She thinks to herself as Jacob opens his eyes and looks at her, "I want to see where you and Jacob live." she answers her. Jacob chuckles as he liked the idea. "Good. Cause I... need to take a shower." Claire states as she pulls Sherry onto her feet. "That sounds like a really good idea." Jacob agrees with her.

Sherry nods at them, "Yeah..." she answers giggling at them, "Really? That bad... oh, yeah..." Claire mutters smelling herself. "You think you're bad? I have a sewage smell where the sun doesn't shine." Jacob jokes and they both turn to him with smiles on their faces. "I'm going to be scrubbing myself for weeks to get the smell out." he groans and Claire rolls her eyes at him.

But then the door opens, making the three turn and there stood Leon as he made it into the train as well. "Claire. Jacob." he said to them, "Leon! It's so good to see you!" Claire said with a smile as she steps up next to him. "Hey man, you finally joined the party," Jacob calls out to him, making Leon laugh to himself. "I told you we make it, didn't I?" Leon tells them. Jacob chuckles to himself as Claire just nods her head at him "You did." she states.

Then Leon notices Sherry as she sat steps over next to Jacob. "Who's this?" he asks them "This...? This is Sherry." Claire introduces her to him and Leon just smiles down at her. "Ok," he states. But then the train shook violently, making the four stumble in their place. "Jesus," Leon mutters as he looks back to the door behind him. "What was that?" Claire asks as Jacob forces himself to stand and Sherry steps over and supports him. "I don't know. I'll go. You take care of Sherry and Jacob." he informs her. Claire nods at him and steps over to Jacob.

He turns to the door and ran through it to the next cart, seeing it was still in the clear, so he hurried to the next cart, seeing nothing in sight, but as he ran towards the door, it began to bend and creek at this sudden pressure that was being applied to the door. He immediately steps back, aiming his gun and fired onto the thing as it was William, reformed and mutated once more and he crawls his way into the cart.

Leon opens fire onto William "You got a problem with death!?" he questions the thing then kept firing onto the monster. "You want more bullets!? Be my guest!" Leon shouts out and reloads his gun, he immediately steps back as William pulls himself into the cart. "C'mon! Want some more!?" Leon shouts at him.

William flinches at the bullets they were being fired at him then he roars, exposing the eye in his mouth. "Christ, just die already!" Leon shouts at him, he pulls out the RPG and fires into the eye inside the mouth. Making William cry out in pain.

He then swung a tentacle at Leon, making him stumble back then the tentacles break off the outside of the cart as the three lookouts from their car towards Leon. He stumbles and smacks onto the side. "LEON!!!" Claire calls out as Jacob held Sherry close to him. He groans and familiar words ring in his ears.

Survive this, Leon... I really want to see you again

He snaps aware as the cart flung to the side, he knew he couldn't die. He had a promise to keep. "We've gotta lose that car!" Claire calls out to him, "And send this bitch back to hell!" Jacob agrees with her.

Claire stood up and pulls the step put of the way and reveals the hatch that was attached to the cars together. Leon groans as he looks up at the monster as it snarls at him. Claire slams her foot onto the hatch, trying to break the car off and it came loose. Leon groans to himself as he grips hold of the pipe next to him, pushing himself back up, and looks back at the monster in front of him. "Come on!" he calls out and plunged the pipe right into the thing's eye, making it cry out in pain. Leon jams it in deeper and glares right at the thing. "Fuck you!" he snaps then flung back as William reels his head back and shrieks out in pain.
