Damein's arms slowly encased my small frame and lifted it up and onto his body. The warmth, the strength, the pure masculinity from him made my heart jump and my blood race and call to his. I laid my weary head against his as he carried us out. My eyes shut against their own will though I tried fighting the ever winning sleep.

Damein just chuckled softly and kissed the top of my head while walking slowly through the halls of where ever we were.

"Sleep Kitten~ We will get home soon and you can wake up when you are ready to." He smiled though I could not see it. But I am sure it was one of his beautiful heart warming smiles that could steal any girl's breath away. It stole mine every time...

And so, under the soft command of his voice, the sweet velvet seduction, I slowly let myself go under the deep healing sleep my body ever so craved. My wolf laid silent, content, and still in my mind, sleeping along a lining of red fur. As I slowly drifted to slumber, the sounds of hushed whispers, soft mumbles by my mate, and our heart beats filled my ears.

Damein's POV

================

Just as I told her to sleep, she abided and soon fell back under her sleeping state. The last time she fell asleep like this, she was out for a week... But during that week, I have found out more about her..or more or less what she is. Though she is still very much a mystery to me, I now know more about what her beasty is.

But now wasn't the time to think on it. The fact now, is that she is here in my arms willingly and actually jumped TO me. That much was surprise enough, but then I get hit with she wants to go home..with me.

She called my place home and asked to go to it with me! My heart jumped with excitement at that thought. I wanted to hug her till she couldn't escape, kiss her till she was out of breath, and take her into my mind without hesitation. But I still had to give her time to grow that close to me. All I cared about right now was there was progress and she was finally starting to come to me.

While walking through the pack house, many pack members looked at me and her with confused stares and glares. But all I had to do was simply growl at them and they averted their eyes quickly, not wanting to upset me at all. I continued walking, holding my dearly beloved as close to me as possible.

The walk back to the house was easy enough, not too many onlookers and no interruptions to my mate's rest. A small snoring sound came from her, but it almost sounded like purring. I chuckled at her adorable actions and carefully arranged her so I could caress her cheek. How soft her skin was against the palm of my hand. I noticed that her scars were fading a bit more. Looks like the treatment and the eating has been helping her a great deal.

I smiled thoughtfully to her and kissed her forehead then her nose. I slowly trailed kisses all along her face except her lips while walking into my house. Shoving the door open with my foot and trudging up up the stairs at a steady pace. Her breathing was slow and rhythmic, her heart thumping gently within her small frame. I smiled more at her sleeping form and pushed open my bedroom door again, sliding in and walking to the bed. Gently placing her in the soft covers of my bed. She looked so peaceful, laying there like nothing in the world can harm. Even when she slept before she still didn't have this type of contentment on her face.

'Something must have happened inside that little head of hers....I wonder why she is acting this way now? ' I pondered to myself.

' Because, my human brother, she went through something traumatic all her life but not once was in death. And now, she had died and had came back through some sort of magick in it. Furthermore, she had been a feral beast when we met her again, probably being chained inside of that insanity. Perhaps she had a revelation and might change her stubborn ways. ' My wolf spoke out facts and a hopeful truth.
