Haven's POV

=====================================

Ava, Sebastian, and Damein were all laughing at some joke, but my mind was on what had happened between me and Damien. It infuriated me how he thought he could treat me like that, I mean sure, I did call him a few names and may or may have not acted a bit like a douche. But what the hell!!! He made!- I..He!

' Aye aye aye, will you just shut up already? He's an Alpha, what else do you expect him to do when his position was being challenged and disrespected like that? ' My wolf groaned inside my head.

I personally was a bit peeved at her as well because she refused to lend me her strength so I could get him off me. The feel of him still above me, overpowering me, it was something that was hard to erase from my brain...Either that or wolfy here was keeping it planted in my head.

I was shaken out of my thoughts by sparks flying up my arms. I looked back to find my "mate" smiling at me with a dorky ass smile. The same smile he gave me earlier today when I told him I would hang out with him. This smile, not his smirk, was what flipped my heart over and make it sizzle with some kind of compassion. A soft and gentle smile touched my lips as I looked up at him, my teal eyes meeting his green ones.

With the way he was hovering over me, it looked like he was going to sweep me off my feet any second and take me away to some far away castle. But I knew that it most definitely wasn't going to happen.  Especially if I had anything to say about it. My wolf growled at that thought once more and I mentally sighed, but on the outside, I was still staring into Damein's eyes like I had been for the past few minutes. His smile softened and he gently took a hold of one of my hands that was laying at my side. His fingers intertwined with mine, locking our hands together. They sparks that flew across my skin were warm, enlightening, almost beautiful to me.

Sebastian cleared his throat and brought both me and Damein out of our staring contest.

"If you do not mind, I think we have an outing to do today and daylight does not last for the ENTIRE day." He said while tapping his watch. Ava giggled and just kissed his cheek and took his hand and my arm, dragging us to the front door with her steel like grip. Damein followed after all of us, keeping his hand locked with mine. Something fluttered in my heart as I watched our hands stay together.

The moment we hit the public eye, his face morphed from sweet and smiling, to one of focused determination and coldness. I was confused by this transformation and by how quickly he changed. Though he gave me only small glances before looking back to the public, he squeezed my hand gently and kept it close to him.

A small small crossed my lips at his gesture and I relaxed while walking next to him. The further into the village we went, the more and more people I saw. I saw the little kids I had hung out with previously and the mothers that went with them. The mom gang waved to me and I smiled bright at them. The children all smiled and were about to come over but saw the Alpha and bowed their head to not seem disrespectful. After a sec they looked up at me with a confused face and made motions at him then me. I shrugged and gave a shy smile to them, but they all giggled and rushed off to their loving mothers.

My smile widened as I watched the little ones run off happily with their mothers. It brought my heart warmth because they were able to have something I lost at a young age. A tug on my hand brought me out of my train of thought because Damein was trying to get me to continue walking instead of just standing and staring. I blushed a little bit due to my dozing off and quickly scooted next to him, my hand still tightly woven around his.

Though I could not see it, I know some sort of smile was on his face...and somewhere deep down inside of me, that warmed my heart.

' Ooooh~ Somebody is catching the feels~' My wolf sang in my head, causing a blush to grace my cheeks once more. I growled internally at her nagging and took a deep breath, calming my nerves.
