CLOUD RECESSE APARTMENTS

Jungkook stood outside Yibo's building, his heart heavy as he stared into Taehyung's deep, intense gaze. The night air was cool, but it did nothing to ease the warmth he felt being near Taehyung. He didn't want to leave, not now, not ever.

"Bye, hyung," Jungkook said softly, his voice betraying the sadness in his eyes.

"Bye, Koo," Taehyung replied, his voice barely above a whisper, the emotion behind it palpable. They both stood frozen in place, neither wanting to break the connection, their hearts aching in the silence.

It was 9 p.m., and Jungkook knew he had to go, but every step felt like dragging himself away from something—someone—he didn't want to leave behind. Taehyung, on the other hand, was fighting a battle inside, his heart screaming to confess everything, but fear clawing at him,

As the seconds stretched, their eyes remained locked, a silent plea hanging in the air between them. Neither moved, neither wanted to move. Jungkook finally forced a sad smile onto his face, breaking the eye contact with a heavy heart as he turned and began walking toward the building.

But as he walked away, his eyes brimmed with unshed tears. He tried to keep them at bay, not wanting Taehyung to see, but they slipped out anyway, one by one. How am I supposed to live without him again? he wondered, his chest tight with the pain of leaving.

Behind him, Taehyung was suffering in silence, watching Jungkook disappear inside. His hands balled into fists as he fought the urge to run after him, to pull him back, to hold him. But he couldn't. I can't stop him him, he will go back eventually, back to his family, Taehyung thought, the pain of his own feelings gnawing at his heart.

But then, Jungkook stopped. His feet halted, and before he could even think about it, he turned around. His eyes were wet, tears streaming down his cheeks now. "H-Hyung... please meet me soon," he said, his voice breaking, a sad smile still on his lips.

That was it. That was the moment Taehyung lost all control.

Without thinking, Taehyung sprinted toward Jungkook, his legs carrying him forward before his mind could even process the action. When he reached him, he enveloped him in a tight embrace, holding him as if he'd never let go again. He didn't care about the people watching, didn't care about anything except for the person in his arms—his Koo.

"We will, baby. We will meet again," Taehyung whispered, his voice raw with emotion. "It's my promise, my love."

Jungkook felt the shiver run down his spine, goosebumps rising on his skin as Taehyung's words sank in. He looked up, his tear-filled eyes locking onto Taehyung's, and just like that, they were both lost in each other once more.

Taehyung cupped Jungkook's face gently, his thumb brushing away the younger's tears. As their eyes met, a flood of memories rushed back—a flashback of a time long ago.

FLASHBACK - PAST LIFE

"Tae-hyung, why are you leaving me here alone?" a young Jeongukk, only 14 years old, pleaded as he clung to Taehyung's arm.

"Prince Gukk, we're in public. They're watching. Please don't behave like this," Taehyung muttered nervously, glancing around to see if anyone noticed the interaction.

"I don't care about people. Please don't go," Gukkie said, his big doe eyes filled with tears.

Taehyung sighed, giving in. "It's only for two months, Gukkie. I'll be back from my grandfather's house before you know it."
