Percabeth reading together
Percy glanced at Annabeth as she stretched out on their bed, flat on her stomach, a book in her hands, propped up against her pillow.
He walked around the side of the bed and laid down next to her, laying his head on her shoulder. She turned to him and smiled softly before turning onto her back so that they were shoulder to shoulder.
"Whatcha reading Wise Girl?"
"It's a retelling of greek myths, I thought it'd be funny to see how wrong the mortals are." Percy laughed and wrapped an arm around her waist pulling her closer so that he could see the words.
Over the years, with the help of Chiron and Annabeth, he'd gotten a whole lot better at reading English. It didn't hurt his head as much, especially when Annabeth bought books made for people with dyslexia. The words tended to swim less on the page now.
And Annabeth and he had spent many nights staying up working through chapters together because sometimes the story was just too good to stop.
Annabeth shifted, pressing her back against Percy's chest and lifted the book higher so that they could both see the words. Percy kept his arms around her waist and traced small circles on her stomach as she softly read aloud.
Percy closed his eyes momentarily, letting the sound of her voice wash over him, more calming than the sound of the sea. He pressed his face into her shoulder and kissed the side of her neck.
Her shoulder tensed up and she let out a sharp breath.
"Do not tickle me Seaweed Brain."
"What are you gonna do?" He taunted. She turned to him, her eyes glowing with mischief and Percy grinned back.
She jabbed an elbow into his ribs and he cried out in surprise.
"Hey!"
Annabeth made a sound of victory and went back to the book, a smile on her face.
She read silently, Percy finally relaxing completely and letting her do her thing. He lightly tapped her hand when he'd finished the page and she turned it accordingly.
"I love you Wise Girl." She turned around again and put the book down onto their bedside table.
"I love you too Seaweed Brain." And pressed a kiss to his cheek before settling back into his arms.
