Aurora woke up slowly, the light from the open window shining into her eyes was warm. There was something different today. She felt lighter than she had in a long time, like a weight had been lifted of her. It was a nice feeling, one she could hardly recognize.

As she sat up in bed she realized what it was. Happiness. She was happy. Hermione had kissed her back and they had walked hand in hand back around the lake to the castle. Hermione was the reason she was feeling this and she felt another sudden urge to thank her.

Aurora got out of bed and hurriedly got dressed, stopping only for a minuet to admire the view of the rising autumn sun from her bedroom window. It reminded her of Hermione which got her going once more. She hurried down to breakfast and gobbled down some toast, on the lookout for Hermione the entire time while she absentmindedly nodded to her dorm mate, Jude who was talking about the Transfiguration homework. When Hermione at last entered the Hall she felt like a star was lighting up the room. Hermione had always looked beautiful, but now she couldn't help but think she was ethereal.

Their eyes met across the room and they both grinned widely. Their eye-contact did not break until Harry Potter began talking to Hermione which required her to turn away. People began to leave soon after to get to classes on time and Aurora watched Hermione intently so as to leave at the some time. Once her and the two boys stood up, Aurora did the same, hurriedly saying goodbye to Jude and making sure to walk out into the Entrance Hall right behind them.

She came up on Hermione's right hand side, falling into step beside her and giving herself a pat on the back for the amount of willpower it took to not grab hold of her hand and swing them back and forwards.

"Good morning." she grinned instead. Hermione turned to her with a start, but smiled beautifully at the sight of her. "Rory! Good morning. Did you sleep well?" Hermione asked. Aurora nodded back. "Did you?" Hermione nodded in reply as they continued to walk.

"What class do you have now?" Aurora asked, stepping closer to Hermione to avoid crashing into a Slytherin second year.

"Charms. We're learning about locomotion charms which I find quite interesting. I imagine they must be very useful in everyday life. What about you?" Hermione asked.

"Transfiguration....I think." Aurora had to think for a second, her eyebrows furrowing. "Yes. I've got Transifiguration, but to be honest I can't remember what we were working on last week." she shrugged, slightly red in the face. It was embarrassing admitting to Hermione who always knew what was going on and what they had been learning that she couldn't remember.

"'Mione, we're going to be late." Ron Weasley suddenly exclaimed from his spot a few meters away. "Can't believe I'm saying this." he muttered to himself. It seemed they had come to a stop in one of the halls and Ron and Harry and walked on, not realizing Hermione had stopped. Aurora glanced down at her watch.

"Shit. I'm going to be late. McGonagall'll have my head, see you Hermione." She glanced at the boys who were talking again and gave a flustered Hermione a wink and a cheeky smile before running in the opposite direction and rushing into the Transfiguration teachers class, trowing an apologetic smile at the tabby cat at the front desk. All she got in reply was a frown, but she counted herself lucky as no other words were spoken and she had the opportunity to daydream the class away on a certain bushy haired girl.

______________

Classes were finished for the day and she was walking the halls looking for Hermione when she spotted her. Aurora looked up and down the hall and noticed it was deserted, so with a grin on her face she ran up to the unsuspecting Gryffindor, grabbed her hand and swung their now joined hands back and forward.
