Annabeth's P.o.V.

I woke up at Camp Half-Blood, but I wasn't in my cabin... I panicked and looked around, suddenly aware of arms around my waist. I heaved a sigh of relief, I was in Cabin 3; the Poseidon cabin. I smiled to myself remembering that after the Giant War, Seaweed Brain and I had gotten permission from Chiron to share Percy's cabin due to our terrible nightmares of that pit.

I looked down at Seaweed Brain, drooling in his sleep. I chuckled at the sight, untangled myself from the quilt and Percy's arms. Since Athena cabin had the first shower hour and I still qualified as one of their residents, even though I did not stay there anymore, I made my way to the girls' bathroom with a pair of jeans, a Camp Half-Blood t-shirt and some other stuff.

When I came back, I saw Seaweed Brain sitting up on the bed, groggily rubbing his eyes. "Morning, Wise Girl," he said sleepily, punctuating the greeting with a yawn. "Where'd you go? I woke up soon after you left..." I rolled my eyes, "Cabin 6 had the first shower hour and unlike some, I don't get the whole hour to myself, Seaweed Brain." He just shrugged in reply, "Not my fault, Annie"

He knew how much I hated that name. "Don't. Call. Me. Annie." I said, picking up a pillow and hitting him with every word. "You know how much I hat–" I was cut off by Percy kissing me. I swear, this Seaweed Brain always gets away from my scoldings like that.

He pulled away and looked into my eyes. "Cool down Miss Chase." I shook my head before realisation dawned upon me. Percy was going to meet his mother today and will probably not be back for weeks! That could not be good for either of our nightmares, which only seemed to fade away when we were together. As if reading my expression, he said, "Why don't you come along! We can have some alone time away from all this demigod drama!"

I simply shook my head. I wanted to go, I really did, but Chiron said that he had a feeling something would happen and that he needed at least one of the 'Camp Leaders', a.k.a. Percy and I, at camp when it did. Considering that I was more reasonable than Seaweed Brain and that he had already made plans to meet his mother, I promised Chiron I would stay. "There is some work to be done here and I promised Chiron that I'll help..."

"Oh... well, I can stay as well..." he ventured. "No," came my firm yet friendly reply, "Go... your mother must have missed you cause I know you missed her Perce... a lot..." He simply nodded and went to pack his bag.

As a half-blood, he did not carry too much stuff, so I helped him stuff a few pairs of clothes – full-length pants and sleeves, of course, to hide the scars from Tart – that pit – some Ambrosia cakes, a small bottle of Nectar and some other demigod essentials like extra weapons, armour that shrunk into a Celestial Bronze contraption about the size of an iPad and a phone, for emergencies.

He headed to the boys' bathroom and came back 10 minutes later in a fresh Camp Half-Blood t-shirt, a full sleeve jacket and loosely fitted, dark blue trousers. He had his shield-watch around his wrist, Riptide (in pen form) in his pocket and his bead necklace around his neck. He shouldered his bag and took my hand.

"You're ready?" I asked, dreading the moment when his hand won't be in mine. He must've noticed my not-so-excited voice because he tightened his grip on my hand. "Yup," he said, not seeming very excited either, even though I knew inside that he was bursting with happiness and tasting Sally's famous blue cookies on his palette at the thought of meeting his mother again. What a total Mama's boy, but I loved him nonetheless. Yah, you heard (read, whatever) correctly, I love Seaweed brain. I could hear our 12-year-old selves laughing at the idea.

He held my hand till the very last moment until he had to cross the barrier. "You'll see me in a few weeks' time" he reassured me. I simply smiled at him, gave him a kiss and he climbed into Argus' car.

I made my way to the cabin only to find that I had been summoned to the big house by Chiron. I ran to the big barn-house style cottage in the middle of the camp. I stopped dead in my tracks."No way in Tart – Hades!' I thought. Thinking about that place still hurt like hell... well, it was hell but that's not the point. The point was that Apolo, in his newly regained godly glory, but I was completely unfazed by the shirtless god in front me that most girls would be drooling at as much as Percy drools in his sleep, I was fazed by the group of teenagers in his chariot.

He sent me a smile that would have made Drew melt into a hot pink slushy and yelled, "We're back baby!"
