Chapter 6- "Something's fishy..."

Our eyes follow the officer's finger tip and see the person standing outside .

We try to squint and see who it is and that's when I get the biggest shock I have gotten in the past few days .

Also , it's the same person who gave my last biggest shock .

Mr Brown aka Dylen .

Alex and I turn towards each other in shock .

Why is he here? Did he see anything?

I really hope not .

That's the only bad thing that's left to happen .(Also I don't wanna be taken by scientists and become a lab rat .)

After the men are taken away to the police station. An officer starts asking us questions about the incident. As the police officers start questioning Alex about the incident, I decide to do a quick investigation.

Let's see if Dylen knows anything .....

I step out of the house and walk in his direction.

He is standing near the gate ,texting someone. He is tall ( taller than Alex), has golden brown hair perfectly gelled, blue eyes and dressed up in a hoodie and sweatpants .

Angel from outside and douche from inside.

I walk closer and he notices me .

"Hey!", I say while approaching him first for the first time ever .(I never liked to approach or talk to him due to this Alex situation.)

"Hey", he says while avoiding eye contact.

Why is the most confident guy in the high school avoiding eye contact ?

This is awkward ...

Did he actually see something ?

"Thanks for calling the cop", I say while giving a fake smile, " what brought you here??".

'Hmm, actually .....", he continued after clearing his throat , " I called you, to apologize, but you didn't pick up the call, so I thought of apologizing in person."

"Ok ",I say (nodding), while remembering the call from the unknown number.

" But I don't think this is the correct situation for that," he says while looking at the police car. "Let's talk later about it. " he says with a smile .

"Yea", I say, still thinking about how to ask him if he says anything .

Suddenly he hesitates and says, "no??", out of nowhere.

No?? What does he mean? I didn't say anything.

"No?" I ask .

Again he starts to avoid image contact and starts seeing here and there.

"Anyways I should go now . Bye ", he says while still avoiding eye contact and walks away.

" But wait ....I...I.. " , but before i finish the sentence Dylen sits on his bike and rides away.

What in the hell just happened ? What did he mean by no ? And for what did he answer with "no" when I didn't ask anything ?

Something's fishy...

Looks like I have happily put myself into another pit of problems. Either he knows about my powers somehow or has some kinda hunch about my abilities.

I need to find out ...

I rush back into the house where Alex is thanking the police for the help .

As soon as the police leave , I lock the door , drag him into the kitchen .

"See Lexi , I know you are angry at me , but I have some work to do right now . I will listen to your rant later . I promise ."

" Stop joking bro", I say after reaching the kitchen, " You know what ? I think we have a problem".

"Ok?? but why are you whispering?", Alex says with a confused look .

That's when I realize ...I was whispering the whole time .

All this sudden drama in my life has put my into 24/7 James bond mode .

I clear my throat and say in a normal volume ," You remember Dylen was standing outside right ?"

"Wait wait ...did that idiot do something again?" He says while pulling up his sleeves , " I will-".

Before he completes his sentence I stuff a piece of bread in his mouth .

" No , he didn't do anything, at least as of yet . But I doubt he knows something about my powers or has some kinda doubt about me."

"And ....how do you know that ?" Alex asks while finishing the bread slice in a second .

"First of all , after knowing him for so long , we both know that he has a high IQ. He can figure out things immediately " I say while sitting down onto the kitchen stool ."Also, the way he was speaking today seemed weirdly fishy."

""Why was he here though?", Alex asks with curiosity on his face .

"Hmmm....he said that he wanted to apologize for something ", I say while walking towards the fridge.

"HE wanted to apologize? That's weird ....be careful Lexi." Alex says while looking at me with a little concern in his eyes.

"Yeah ok " I say while picking up the water bottle and unscrewing the cap.

"Good ....So, what should we do now Lexi?"

I shrug and start drinking water .

"He said we will talk later ,so let's see ." I say while screwing the cap back onto the bottle.

" Fine, but be careful ok? And if he does or says anything unwanted, you know I am there just behind you. ok? ", Alex says while messing up my hair and walks out of the kitchen .

"Ok I will be ." I say while smiling

But why do I have a feeling that something totally unexpected is coming my way.... Aaah probably it nothing ...

I shrug off the feeling and walk back towards my room to get some rest .
