Learning From the Worst

Chapter Four: Passing and Failing

Obito was still covered in bright orange paint that was now dry, standing at attention with

Kakashi, who was tied to a post

Sasuke, who was also tied to a post

And Sakura, who was snickering and sitting next to Obito.

Naruto was shaking his head in front of all the boys, while Sakura picked paint flakes out of a violently blushing Obito's hair.

"Well, since Obito and Sakura are the only ones not tied to posts, I guess they can have lunch." Naruto said. "Oh and also everyone who didn't get a bell is going back to the academy."

All the students paled.

"Hn! The only reason Sakura passes is because you're being a weird pervert!" Sasuke said in a huff.

Sakura looked sad and Naruto's face turned sour.

"First of all…" Naruto said in a stern voice that no one knew the blonde was capable of. "Sakura is noble, she pushes down her own fear to help others. Secondly, she has medical jutsu training, and at her age that's miraculous and shows her determination and skill in chakra control. Last I checked none of you have anything close to the skill of saving lives that she practices. And Finally, and I had hoped I didn't have to reveal this, I am a very gay man and as such have no interest in any female." Naruto finished his tirade. Sakura was blushing a bit at the quite flattering    -yet accurate-   assessment of herself.

Obito was staring fondly at Sakura, and couldn't help but be glad that their sensei was gay because he was really hot- no not hot like, um, just, ugh.

Kakashi was amazed by his sensei taking charge. He respected that the blonde could be both caring and strict, and was very observant.

Sasuke was annoyed. He didn't like that dobe of a sensei and got a new ambition. 'To kick said dobe-sensei's ass.' Sasuke thought.

Naruto was feeling good, he had shown his dominance and defended the kunoichi. He knew that kunoichis were often the target of blame, being female, but Naruto wasn't having that. He hated oppressing anyone for something they didn't choose, so he made a note to get in contact with Tsunade to raise Sakura to a potential that he couldn't help with, him not being a medical nin.

"Now" Naruto said. "Sakura, Obito, here are your lunches" he handed the two large bentos before giving them grins. "If they eat, Sakura's going back to the academy too." He said in an overly cheerful tone, knowing Obito would rather die than hurt Sakura in any way.

Naruto poofed away in a cloud of smoke, leaving the four alone.

Sasuke's stomach growled and he looked to the side embarrassed and annoyed. 

"Obito, please share your lunch with Kakashi."

"But Sak-"

"If all of you are going back to the academy, why would I stay here?" Sakura said in a sweet voice, giving off a warm smile that made Obito melt.

"O-okay…"

Sakura then began to feed Sasuke while Obito fed Kakashi. Naruto appeared, a threatening hurricane behind him.

"What. Are. You. Doing?" Naruto said in a voice so threatening it seemed to shake the earth.

"W-well, we wanted to…" Sakura trailed off.

"We're not letting our friends starve! Send us back to the academy if you want, but we're going back as a team!" Obito shouted upward at the fourteen year old he was eye level with.

"You pass" Naruto said casually.

"...what?" All the genin said in unison, except Sasuke who was trying to emo his way out of the ropes.

"I said you all pass, if you learn one thing from me as a sensei, it's that I'm not too pushy with rules. Those who break the rules are scum, but those who would abandon their comrades are much worse than that."

Obito got sparkles in his eyes, he very much looked up to his eye level sensei.

Naruto threw two kunai to break Kakashi and Sasuke's restraints before turning around and walking the opposite direction of his students.

"Come on kits, I'm treating y'all to the best ramen ever!"

The genin sweat dropped at their ramen obsessed sensei, but followed behind shortly after.
