Kakashi POV
"Hn, dobe-sensei" Sasuke muttered, looking and Naruto, who had somehow downed four bowls of ramen before the waitress showed up. I suspect one of the scrolls on his belt is filled with ramen stored in seals, sure having hot meals ready for on the go is good but this. This is ridiculous.
"What was that duckbutt?" The blonde said, mouth full of ramen."I said your a dobe-sensei! Why are we eating ramen instead of training?" Sasuke whined.
"I may be a dobe, but who's the sensei? That's right, I'm the sensei. So quit your whining and be grateful you have clothes on your back and food on the way, teme-chan." Naruto retorted.
"What do you know?! You could never know what it's like to not have a clan!" Sasuke yelled, making a scene in the ramen shop.
Naruto stopped eating his ramen. He tilted his head so his bangs would cover his eyes and he was silent. But then he reluctantly opened his mouth.
"Obito, do you have something to say?" He said, not looking up.
"Um, well, he's main family and he saw the whole thing, I'm barely an Uchi-"
"Did Sasuke tell you this?" Naruto said in an ominously calm voice.
"W-well he-"
"Hey! I'm the one you're talking to!" Sasuke yelled at the blonde.
Naruto turned his head up to Sasuke, who was now standing in the booth. The blonde's eyes were a vibrant red with slits for puples, his whisker marks turning a shade of black that made it look like shadows were clawing his face.
"Sit, you're making the ramen sour." He said in a growl.
Everyone was silent and pale from the display. Just as soon as the red came, it left, leaving the wonderful blue in its place.
"Sasuke, belittling others won't help you on your mission for sanity." Naruto said in a gentle tone before turning to Obito.
"Your just as much an Uchiha as he is, doubt never leads anywhere good." Obito started to tear up.
Naruto continued on his ramen and I couldn't help but notice the glares, every other person that wasn't an employee was glaring daggers at Naruto. I could sense the civilians KI so I'm certain Naruto could too, but he had no reaction.
'Strange' I thought as the waitress came up to our booth with a huge smile.
"Heya Naruto! Are these the genin you were so excited about?" The brown haired woman asked.
I couldn't help but smirk under my mask, considering how he acted when we first met him.
"U-um heh, yeah." Naruto responded.
"Ayame-san, this is Kakashi, Obito, Sakura and teme-chan. My new kits!" He introduced, gesturing to us.
Obito raised his hand.
"I'm not Iruka-sensei, squirt, what do you need? Oh, just double my usual, thank you Ayame-san!" Naruto then turned back to Obito.
"Isn't a kit a baby fox?" Obito asked, just as confused as the rest of us as to why he keeps calling us that.
"Correct you are. As your sensei, you are my kits and you will be until you can defeat me in one-on-one combat. This is your goal, all of you." He said, turning to the table.
"You can't refer to us as babies dobe-sensei, you're not even taller than all of us! He's just as tall as you and he's twelve!" Sasuke said, gesturing to his cousin.
"Okay he is not as tall as me, he's just the closest. That just means more potential awesomeness." Naruto said, slurping down yet another bowl of ramen in denial.
Obito blushed, looking away. "Th-thats-"
"Don't question your sensei when he's eating his ramen." Naruto finished, being done with the ramen interruptions.
Ayame and an old man suddenly came up to the table, precariously balancing ten bowls of ramen. I thought they were serving at least three tables.
I was wrong.
One bowl in front of me and the other genin and six in front of Naruto. And as if to answer my question, he immediately stuffed five of them into scrolls, leaving one behind for him to eat now.
"Don't worry, ramen's on me tonight. But after this were rotating bills." Naruto explained, leaving Sasuke looking smug.
"What's wrong dobe-sensei? Can't afford to feed your own students?" Sasuke mocked.
"Yeah, unlike you I can't live off a trust fund and the hokage hates me going out on long missions that pay more than couch change." Naruto said between slurps.
"Um, sensei, what about your parents?" Sakura asked and then immediately regretted it.
Naruto began eating his ramen faster if that was possible.
"Heh, sorry, not an option." He said before continuing his meal.
"I-I'm so sorry sensei! I didn't mean to-"
"Ugh, can you kits stop dragging these ugly emotions into the ramen shop. If you wanna have one of those heartfelt talks let me finish my ramen first. This is a happy place, no apologies, no violence and no family talk." Naruto briefly said, not raising his eyes.
I kinda appreciated that, I've never liked talking about families seeing as I dont have one.
