Chapter Twenty-Seven
FLIPPING THE PIECE of cloth to the other side to finish up cleaning the mess they made from their bath time, I looked over at Madi with slight annoyance, as she asked her question.
"Mama, it's cold."
"Of course it's going to be cold if you just throw your towel on the floor!"
Finally standing up with the help of the edge of the bathtub. I slightly adjusted my t-shirt as it stuck to my body from the water droplets, picking up her towel as I wrapped it around once more as she cupped her mouth with both of her hands showing she completely forgot about the towel.
"Sorry, mama."
Letting my hands hold both of their hands I guided them out of their bathroom as we made it into their room, to finally get them to sleep, letting me stress about life in peace.
"It's okay my love"
Smiling down to her, I tucked the dark wavy strands behind her ear as she giggled at the response. Kissing her button nose, she knew what to do from the numerous amount of times that we did bedtime together.
As she waddled to her side of the room, on her bed I laid out her favorite set of pajamas, that had details of tiny pink roses on the background of white. She plopped onto her bed as she waited for me, swinging her legs back and forth.
Usually, by now, they would be tucked into bed, a story read, and lights off, but with Adriano gone, it took twice as long as the very apparent pregnancy symptoms started to take place.
Turning around to Romi, I used his towel as I ruffled his wet hair, to dry it faster, giving him a kiss on his cheek as he gave one back in return.
I got up from the ground as I went over to Madi while Romi already had his pajama's on in the nick of time. Smiling back at him, I did a little happy dance over to her, to hear her beautiful giggles to ease up the mood from their missing father.
Kneeling down in front of her, I handed her the organic vanilla-scented lotion as she opened the lid out of joy as it was her favorite step of her bedtime routine.
Sitting down on the floor once again, from the exhaustion of just being on my knees I looked over to Romi once again as he made his way to the bathroom to hang up his towel on the heater for it to dry.
He was always very independent, he never really needed Adriano or I's help, and ever so rarely would he ask for help, cause he liked to do everything by himself just like his dad.
Miss Madi on the other hand, was the complete opposite. She always asks for help for even the smallest of things, loved to be the center of attention, and always defying daddy's rules, just like her mama.
