Old Friends, New Drama

In the blink of an eye, the ever promising summer vacation came to an end, and with the start of school stuck in everyone's heads everyone starts to feel the stress of the first day. Despite Ryan, Tina, Goldy and Unicorn all have been going to the same high school for what seems like a year already, the butterflies in their stomachs still manage to get through. Of course neither of them are necessarily happy to begin another year of learning, but the chance to see friends that you haven't seen for 3 months is a rather exciting feel. While school is normally a tedious, monotonous place, one thing is for sure; this year will be full of excitement.

Ryan hears his alarm clock going off early in the morning, rolls out of bed; his eyes still half closed, and smacks the top to make it stop buzzing. He soon readies himself as he takes one last look at the photo of him and Tina, sitting on his dresser, before heading downstairs. Ryan makes his way to the table where a plate of pancakes await him. His mouth starts to water as he sits and digs in.

Ryan's Mom "Oh good morning sweetie! Did you sleep well? It's a big day today!"

Ryan "Geez mom you don't need to say that stuff every time it's a new school year"

Ryan's Mom "Waah!? This is the only time of the year where I get to say it! Do you know how long I've been waiting for this day!"

Ryan "Ugh fine, if it's that important to you, I'll let it slide... but just this once!"

Ryan's Mom "Teehee, sure whatever you say" she says with a wink, "By the way, do you need me to drop you off at school today?"

Ryan "Nah I'm good, thanks though"

Ryan's Mom physically steaming "Oh really now" with a slight hint of anger in her voice

Ryan "R-really mom, thanks and all, but I was planning to walk there with Tina and the others..." whimpering, "please don't be mad..."

Ryan's Mom "Oh well if it's with Tina and your friends I guess I could let it slide" her anger starting to subside with relief now.

Ryan "Anyways thanks for the breakfast, it was good! I'm off now!"

Ryan's Mom "Okay sweetie, have fun and good luck today too!"

Ryan makes his way outside and heads to Tina's place, who is not waiting outside so she must still be getting ready. A sudden *knock* *knock* fills the house. As the door gently opens:

Tony "Oh, hey Ryan... let me guess you're here for my sister aren't ya?"

Ryan "Erm well, yeah... but do you have to put it like that?"

Tony "Like what?"

Ryan "N-nevermind... anyways is she still getting ready?"

Tony "Probably, you know how girls are getting ready in the morning, besides it's for her boyfriend so you know she's gonna put in extra effort."

Ryan slightly blushing "O-okay then. I guess I'll just wait here?"

Tony "*sigh* let me call her... TINA YOUR BOYFRIEND'S HERE FOR YA!!! There now she knows"

Ryan "Geez Tony, now the whole neighborhood knows!"

Tony "Well it's either that or spend an hour waiting for her to get ready"

Ryan "I really don't think it would take an hour"

Tony "Eh you'd be surprised... trust me"
