Gram's POV:

We walked to the barracks in silence. Right before we walked in I worked up enough nerve to grab her hand and keep walking.

She stiffened a little bit but didn't say anything.

The soldiers who noticed us either ignored us or made a gesture in Mando'a that I blatantly ignored.

Once we got to the Captain's Hallway, Eve let go of my hand. It was a show of respect, she didn't want my vod bothering me about gestures like that.

"Hey! Gram! Who's your friend?" A voice called from behind me.

It was one of Rex's. His armor was painted blue and he had a handprint painted on his chest.

I vaguely remember meeting him, but not enough to be on a first name basis.

"Wait! Your Ahsoka's friend! What are you doing with Gram?"

Eve answered quickly.

"I'm the commander of the 542nd battalion."

His head jerked back.

"Krell's.......... your...... no...."

I immediately tensed. Even with all the armor on I could see his emotions.

"Why are you spending your spare time with this murderer vod?!?" Another voice said from behind us.

Eve grabbed for my hand. I could tell she was scared.

Before she got the chance she was ripped from her spot next to me by the second voice.

The clone with the bullseye on his helmet had Eve. With his blaster under her throat.

Eve was stiff. Her eyes not showing fear. She tried to reach for her lightsabers but he pushed the blaster against her chin.

"Let. Her. Go"

"Her Master killed thousands of our brothers! Don't  defend her!" He said bringing the blaster closer to her neck. Eve looked at me shaking her head slightly.

That was the last straw. I reached for my guns.

"Captain! Stand down!" Eve shouted, the worry clear in her voice.

"I can't do that."

"Please!"

I kept my hand on my blaster.

"That was an order, Gram!"

I froze. She NEVER ordered anything out of us. Much less did she call me by my name in public.

I wasn't the only one in shock. The man with the blaster to Eves throat loosened his grip.

"Gram. You called him Gram." He said shock registering in his voice.

Eve stayed stiff.

Just like that the man dropped Eve.

I tried to run to her but time froze.

A bullet can from the complete opposite direction. While she was focused on getting her weapons out, it shot through her arm.

Eve let out a grunt of pain.

The two men turned and ran.

And I had Eve.
