Chapter Five
By, The Author
“One of the many reasons I’m here,”
I don’t want to mention it, especially that memory. I’m still haunted by that memory.
“Kid, do you know what your aura is?” asked the older officer.
“Maybe, Maybe not but even if I did, what purpose does it serve telling you?” I replied trying to manipulate him into losing sight of his goal. Which intern would help me achieve mine.
“Sly and smart move for a kid, you must think you’re a match for me?” he smirked as he stood up. Backstepping while refining himself into a stable stance. His hands lifted into a rough fighting position. It didn’t seem like he was planning on a fight with magic.
“Let’s see what you got, Asahi may be able to read your aura if you're preoccupied or in other words distracted,”
“Uh.. why not, but dude you're getting into a fight with a kid is that even allowed,” I ask slyly my mouth tugging at a smirk as I pushed my hands into my pockets. Though I could see where he was coming from so I shrugged.
My eyes averted away from him as I stood up into a similar position but way more refined, accurate, and a style that only a few people would even recognize. His eyes lit up, so he did recognize it but nonetheless he remained calm and continued to keep the cocky façade.
If everyone recognized the style, I may be in big trouble since it was a secret style only used during the Victorian era. He pushes forward with incredible speed, moving his right hand at my head. I ducked cutting of his attack and his balance. I attempted to launch a counter-attack but forgot to cover leaving me open for all of 3 seconds. He had noticed it both blocking my attack and created a solid hit knocking me back towards the door. He had a fair amount of strength to… Yeah right, he just launched you into a wall with one punch.
Which probably causing some major internal damage complementing the external blood. I forced myself to stand in time for him to start moving towards me, his cocky grin in tacked. I smirk spinning around him grabbing his hands. He struggled for his left arm to break free. I move out of the way of his upcoming attack. I force my knee into his groin for him to cry out in pain, I use this opportunity to again try and immobilize him.
He had realized what my plan was, so he reacted by instead of punch or kicking he used my grip on him to flip me forcing my head came crashing down onto the ground. In the background, Asahi was pancaking while running around looking for a first aid kit. I blocked that out as well as the pain. I force myself to roll out of the way as he went to punch my head resting on the ground, though it was becoming hard due to exhaustion.
This cycle continued for a while, attack, block, kick, get punched, immobilize, he escapes. I decide I have to end this fight before I pass out from exhaustion. He was currently in an offensive pose with his knees bent. Which meant I could probably do a zigzag run up then hit the pressure point on the neck, which would in theory neutralize him temporarily. One… Two… Three and run. In about five seconds before he could react, I had hit his pressure point. He was going limp before crashing onto the floor.
The adrenaline left me, Pain was all I could feel but the pain is only temporary at least physical pain... Unfortunately, I could still feel the aching, internal bleeding, external bleeding and soon to be black bruises. Yes, what I did was very much suicidal but what do I have to lose. Not a lot. I pass out watching my vision fade to black.
Asahi was impressed but concerned they were both injured and he still couldn’t read Hex’s aura. Hex was losing a lot of blood and Alex was passed out on the floor.
Asahi had to call U.M.C, Under Mysterious Circumstances. Inform them of the situation, get them to help Alex and Hex as well as cover it up. I am going to kill that cocky bastard (yes, he means Alex). I don’t want to work overtime because of him! He pouted before beginning the call to U.M.C. Poor him. He had trouble explaining it since they weren’t exactly allowed to start fights. Well, common courtesy sorta prohibits fights in somewhat normal societies.
The call ended quickly after he explained the situation to U.M.C. “Yes… Yes, I’ll work on it… relax…. Why do I have to work overtime,” He mutters into the phone while turning over to face the window. Asahi glances out the window at the gray fog the laced and complimented the city. A subtle beauty lied in the sight as if to taunt one since the city was stained in blood from its history.
Some may think about the phrase forgive and forget but not all agree. Some may never forgive nor forget. Some may be scared of what the past can do but some are resentful, some would give the world to see those who left them with scars suffer. Asahi doesn’t know what to believe. The fog made him remember, the past he longed and tried for so long to forget… remembered at the sight of the fog that hid the stained streets of this beautiful place.
He will never forgive them as long as he lives. He may try to forget, but to forgive would be asking for death. A wound that deep may heal but will always scar. He wants to forgive but his heart would never let him forgive them for the sins that they’ve committed. He continues to stare out the window allowing his thoughts to wonder.
